World Peace can be attained only when the need by Man to dominate and impose is eliminated
Merry Christmas to all who believe in the reason for the season, I hope your holidays will be free of strife and even if it's only for just a few days I hope there is peace during this tyime.
We here in Philly had a similar train accident by which the conductor hit the curve going way to fast , several people died and quite a few injured, my question then and also towards this latest accident is, Why would a trained conductor go into a curve way to fast to sustain traction, forget speed reduction devices, somewhere along the line some common sense must prevail. The politicians and various talking heads on the so=called news channels will lay cause on everything but the lack of common sense.
The Middle East has been in a constant state of flux since Biblical times,The last time the map was changed was during the 6 Day War, although Israel has since given back the Golen Heights to Jordan with the proviso that they would no longer lob shells or motar fire into Israel from there.
But Israel as a sovereign nation has always claimed that city as its capital, wasn't it after the 6 day war that Israel reclaimed the city in its entirety from Jordan , and I still don't know why the Nation of Israel cannot name its own capital as every other Nation does.
What is so wrong with a nation naming it's own capital city, doesn't every nation have that right.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and I hope the dinner conversation is all civil.
There is a sure a lot of hate on this forum, especially when one does not agree or even have a different opinion with the haters, so for now I will take a brief respite from posting ( the applause is deafening" as I have several family members living in Fla. and a couple of them chose not to evacuate, so my mind will on them.

Allowing policy to revolve around a political agenda is exactly what Donald has done. The Executive has vast powers regarding immigration policy and Donald used his vast powers to threaten the deportation of nearly a million people who haven't stepped foot in their country of origin since they were infants.
Donald could have just as easily pardoned those nearly one million people, but he decided to do the exact opposite. He chose to pardon a racist sheriff who was convicted of a Federal crime after he refused to obey a court order telling him to stop being a racist asshole instead.
johnnycee Wrote: I think if these individuals have been living here for x number of years and have been good law abiding people , let them apply for citizenship status like every other immigrant, their vetting process will be go easy .
Your hero could have easily stated that was what he wanted and ask Congress to pass a new immigration bill without putting nearly a million people at risk of deportation back to a country they have never visited.
Instead of doing that, your hero pandered to his dwindling base out of pure spite.
No, what is the problem is that Congress doesn't want handle this problem which is why President Obama had to make a Executive Order to help alleviate the problem and perhaps the Congress would act on the President's initiative, but no they were content to let sleeping dogs lay,. unfortunately the problem grew worse, so this current President pulled the rug from under them and now maybe they will act. I hope with the disaster of these hurricanes approaching fast, with one already done and another waiting in the wings, money must be made available to cope with the damages that these storms will bring, so is there a deal in the making, it seems so with what the President making a deal with both of the leaders of the minority leaders for increasing the debt ceiling. Although he is not my hero, another false assumption of yours, but I am getting use to them, anyway he is not my hero and it appears that he is not pandering to his base considering the deals he is making with the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate
johnnycee Wrote: Thinly veiled racist posts, I think not, because I believe that the young black man in Ferguson was a thug who attacked a cop , robbed a store keeper and was again advancing on the cop is racist or not believing the young black man who had a habit of faking injuries and resisting arrests, and even the witness who had observed him throwing himself against the walls of the police van was actually injured by the police, which then required immediate street justice by rioting and burning and looting of stores that actually did good for the community by his peers, you think this makes me a bigot, then you need a refresher course in" What is Bigotry and How to Recognize It" ,
Yea, but Michael Brown didn't attack a cop. Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager, was dozens of feet away when Darren Wilson, who has admitted to using the n-word multiple times, shot an unarmed black teenager six times - twice in the head.
Your cheering the murder of unarmed black teenagers and men at the hands of the police is well documented on this website and available for everyone to read. You can claim otherwise all you want, but your words don't lie and you can't retroactively delete them.
With regard to immigrants legal and otherwise you have always consistently been on the side of bigotry and building barriers both physical and other in order to keep brown people out of this country. Those opinions are also documented on this website and available for anyone to read.
You can't run away from the truth, Johnny. You can claim you're not a bigot all you want, but the fact of the matter is that you are one of the most bigoted and hateful people I have ever conversed with. You cheer the deaths of unarmed people, insist that police can do no wrong, and whenever you are proven wrong you simply insist that it's a single instance and not proof of a systemic problem.
Even worse, you hide behind your Christian faith as an excuse for your bigoted beliefs and simply say that you're not perfect and that your Lord and Savior will forgive you for being a bigot because that's what Lord and Savior's do.
The same goes with how you view fucking children who were brought here for no fault of their own and have lived their entire lives here in America. I used to work with a lot of these kids when I was a college admissions counselor and many of them didn't even know they were undocumented until they started applying for college and their parents told them that they wouldn't be eligible for financial aid. But you know what many of those kids did? They saved up the money to pay for college in cash, got their degree, and are now contributing to our society and giving back to a country that gave them absolutely nothing.
And what do you want to do with these people? Tell them to fuck off and go back to a country they haven't stepped foot in since they were infants.
How cruel. I'm sure your savior is so proud of you.
Never mind - Jesus will forgive you for your bigotry and racism and you will be able continue to be a bigot and racist for all of eternity in his magical kingdom in the sky.
johnnycee Wrote: and as for the current situation regarding DACA, it was only a temporary respite from the issue and it was illegal to begin with because the President cannot legislate from the Oval office, my agreeing with this decision does not make me a xenophobe, I want the Congress to do something long term about this issue and finally put some parameters around a meaningful Immigration Policy.
You can repeat Donald's talking points all you want about Congress needing to step up their game, but the Executive has vast powers when it comes to immigration policy whether you want to accept it or not. Unfortunately this Executive and yourself have landed on the side of bigotry, xenophobia, and "America first" bullshit that will only make this country worse off.
johnnycee Wrote: Also I have never associated with any White Supreme/National group so I don't where you arrive at that conclusion and on another note are white nationalist movements the same as black nationalist movements, just a thought? Perhaps in your zeal to uncover any and all Bigots, Racists and Xenophobes you might have forgotten to look in the mirror.
You don't have to be a member of the KKK to be a racist or white nationalist.
It's not hard to prove that you are a bigot, Johnny. And it's not hard to prove that I'm not.
When I look in the mirror I see someone who loves people of all colors. I see someone who doesn't look at black or brown people as a threat. I see someone who is teaching immigrant children how to learn English and I see someone who takes a little brother out for fun adventures on a weekly basis. I see someone who believes that bridges are far better than walls and I see someone who believes children shouldn't be punished for the actions of their parents.
I can look at myself in the mirror and see someone who is doing a small part to help make this country a better place. I am confident that you can't say the same without lying through your teeth.
Michael Brown did attack the cop while he was sitting in his patrol car resulting in his firearm being discharged, now the situation has risen to the level of a felony as opposed to a ped stop with maybe a citation being issued, so that's one minor flaw in your story telling, also the number of shots fired is not at issue, only in your mind is it an issue, was the head shots fired first or last, you don't know so you just speculate to move your narrative forward, next I guess you will say that he had his hands up, which has since been debunked, I have never been a cheerleader for anyone shooting anyone without cause, let alone police officers, white or black or any color for that fact, I have always asked for all of the facts before making a call, race it seems is always a factor in your recitation / version of the facts surrounding the event. My views on immigration are as follows , we have a process that allows for the immigration of people into this country, either we follow it or we can change it, but don't let the policy revolve around a political agenda, which is what is happening now, I think if these individuals have been living here for x number of years and have been good law abiding people , let them apply for citizenship status like every other immigrant, their vetting process will be go easy . Does that make me xenophobic? I think not. As for proof of my not being racist or white nationalist , how does one go about proving a negative, I say I am not and you say that I am, I know what's in my heart and I can and do look in the mirror and see a well lived life looking back at me, a man who grew up in bi-racial family, dysfunctional ,yes but loving just the same, a man who survived a war and its aftermaths, a man who spent 26 years in law-enforcement and were some of my actions questionable, perhaps , depending on who was doing the questioning, but I was always fair to all I encountered, did I follow my Christian beliefs , no,. not always, but than again we all are flawed and far from perfect, so yes I do feel comfortable looking in the mirror and liking what I see, you have already made up your mind about me, and that is your right no matter how wrong you are.
