Yes, and the people here keep on sleeping. He has "bought" the whole government by injecting all his "loyal" mafia friends into strategic positions.

Yes this country is doomed, but the people here like to stay naive.

The way he's acting, it looks like he's indeed ready for the next attack; his face turns red as a beet because he gets fast upset. I've had an heart attack,so I know what I'm talking about.

Forget him as President; wake up America; select an sound healthy person with an healthy brain.

Yes, the problem with this country is that they always first elect someone and then afterwards screen such person. They always start at "Z" and end up with "A". That is how we got Trump.
Pathetic is the word. Attach all of them to an lie detector before nominating them.

Somewhere I heard Bernie is the "new" Fidel Castro.

Schmidt, wishful thinking. Don't underestimate again the influence of the "red"States and the impact of the "electoral college".
Don't forget actually Hillary won by more than 3 million votes; the electoral college killed it.

Also a lot still can happen before any election; just look at the "border" disaster; this may become the main issue for the elections.

Yes Jared, how low can you go; why is this guy still in office? In any other civil country he would have been gone. I guess the antique stupid laws here manipulated thru centuries by greedy lawyers are the cause, Finally Warren says the "electoral college" should be scrapped, but if that ever happens I doubt that. Sorry to say, Trump may even get an second term, because of all the corruption via him and his family. This country thrives on corruption even in the election system. I bet he will go even lower than the McCain thing; no one stops him, even if he kills someone on Times Square. Amen

Schmidt, an excellent piece. I suggest to have the Washington Post publish it. My only comment is: How can you remove such con-man from office if the Trump party sticks with him? Even if Mueller comes with an damming report they will use every roadblock they can find to prevent removal. Also the 2020 election may not be the solution, because the "red" States have only become more fanatic. I don't want to sound negative but it may take an long long time to get this country back to "normal" unless you remove the "electoral college".

If this country would have proper "laws" then such societies likely would not get as far in politics as here. The same applies to the NRA and others like the KKK.

Freedom of speech is nice, but should not be "unlimited"

The Constitution and its few amendments are flawed because they did not keep up with the times. The Mormons were banned in Europe, thus came here just like an lot of odd religions; therefore "religion" never should interfere into "governing. There should be an strict separation between church and State. In elections there should be no money involved; also the money from Kochs and others should be banned. Do as they do in Europe; elections without church influence or its "money".

Guy, that is what you get if people select religion above common sense. Religion always has been an curse on humanity. How many people have been killed because of it through the centuries from day one. Until now no one has any proof of how the universe came into being let alone if a single "god" thing runs it. The ridiculous part of it is animal like behavior just to get power over the people via lies, human written books of only about 6000 years old as well other "tools" to indoctrinate simple minded human beings. The whole thing in Israel is just an "power play" in which the US is sticking its big nose into it to make the human suffering only worse. Sorry that land belongs to the Palestinians not the Jews. The same as with the US this land did belong to the Indians, who are now also treated as with the Palestinians. It is that people do fight for their territory just like animals do; it is in our genes. Such will go on forever; the human animal is an strange creature.

Schmidt, like I said in my main writing; most of it (nowadays) is driven by culture and religion.
Especially here in the US the first settlers were dominant "white" as well often of an religious sext which was no longer accepted in Europe or if from France or Spain as Catholic. Due to our immigration influx over the last century, these groups of people are loosing their dominance, which leads to our present situation. They feel cornered. Since most "white" created religions originated in Europe and white people stuck to those as well got more fanatic because of the "herd" mentality which they needed to feel protected from the "immoral's" who flooded this country, it is purely an self preservation drive; nothing else.

Schmidt, I don't think it has anything to do with DNA, but more or less the culture. Like Hitler promoted the white aerian race. Somehow Pence wants the same. Europe learned their lesson; we have not. The US Catholics are in that respect as fanatic as under Hitler. Like I said religious indoctrination controls such, especially if they are allowed to meddle in politics, which Trump and Pence changed from the Obama standpoint.
