Schmidt, an excellent piece. I suggest to have the Washington Post publish it. My only comment is: How can you remove such con-man from office if the Trump party sticks with him? Even if Mueller comes with an damming report they will use every roadblock they can find to prevent removal. Also the 2020 election may not be the solution, because the "red" States have only become more fanatic. I don't want to sound negative but it may take an long long time to get this country back to "normal" unless you remove the "electoral college".

If this country would have proper "laws" then such societies likely would not get as far in politics as here. The same applies to the NRA and others like the KKK.

Freedom of speech is nice, but should not be "unlimited"

The Constitution and its few amendments are flawed because they did not keep up with the times. The Mormons were banned in Europe, thus came here just like an lot of odd religions; therefore "religion" never should interfere into "governing. There should be an strict separation between church and State. In elections there should be no money involved; also the money from Kochs and others should be banned. Do as they do in Europe; elections without church influence or its "money".

Guy, that is what you get if people select religion above common sense. Religion always has been an curse on humanity. How many people have been killed because of it through the centuries from day one. Until now no one has any proof of how the universe came into being let alone if a single "god" thing runs it. The ridiculous part of it is animal like behavior just to get power over the people via lies, human written books of only about 6000 years old as well other "tools" to indoctrinate simple minded human beings. The whole thing in Israel is just an "power play" in which the US is sticking its big nose into it to make the human suffering only worse. Sorry that land belongs to the Palestinians not the Jews. The same as with the US this land did belong to the Indians, who are now also treated as with the Palestinians. It is that people do fight for their territory just like animals do; it is in our genes. Such will go on forever; the human animal is an strange creature.

Schmidt, like I said in my main writing; most of it (nowadays) is driven by culture and religion.
Especially here in the US the first settlers were dominant "white" as well often of an religious sext which was no longer accepted in Europe or if from France or Spain as Catholic. Due to our immigration influx over the last century, these groups of people are loosing their dominance, which leads to our present situation. They feel cornered. Since most "white" created religions originated in Europe and white people stuck to those as well got more fanatic because of the "herd" mentality which they needed to feel protected from the "immoral's" who flooded this country, it is purely an self preservation drive; nothing else.

Schmidt, I don't think it has anything to do with DNA, but more or less the culture. Like Hitler promoted the white aerian race. Somehow Pence wants the same. Europe learned their lesson; we have not. The US Catholics are in that respect as fanatic as under Hitler. Like I said religious indoctrination controls such, especially if they are allowed to meddle in politics, which Trump and Pence changed from the Obama standpoint.

Excellent piece Schmidt; but as I said so many times it is an self inflicted wound in this country by not having proper voting laws without "money" as well mandatory laws to properly "vet" top positions such as an President. Sorry to say the US will never be the same again unless we update our Constitution to reflect and repair these anomalies.

Yes I did see his show; the only thing in which he was kind of timid, was with the "evangelical" nutcase. He should have said more clearly that churches should pay property taxes as well and that of the churches income, only 10 to 15% end up at the needy.
Related to the Obama thing, sure that was hilarious.

It is Kinder Garten all over again; just an bunch of incompetent butt crawlers. I hope people saw my 1992 clip of Trump that he demands LOYALTY. This shows it again. I always could say to my boss whatever I wanted to say to get the work done. This is absolutely ridiculous for grownup people.

Yes he is an threat to world peace. But not only the "world" The total stupidity not to "vet" the guy before the "primary' shows that we should have strict "laws" about vetting an President.
Right now he's wheeling and dealing from his "palace in FL. Just sold one of his "casino's" as well according to MSNBC received $6o million for an estate sale where the Russians had involvement. But yeah this country keeps on sleeping. The lowest "human" action he pulled, was inviting the widow of the Yemen fallen "seal" at his slimy speech for the full House. Only to boost his own ratings.

Kind of weird the name Chamberlin was part of the WWII start. Chamberlin ( British) visited Hitler and thought the guy was not all that bad. But exactly he opposite happened.

I wonder if this is an repeat of what happened then. It looks like an "omen"
