Engage the social network in-person, local to global
My home town is St. Paul, MN. My wife and I built a home on the North Shore of Lake Superior, at Little Marais, 65 miles northeast of Duluth. We moved north in 2001.
My current retirement job concentrates on art making and creative writing. I started oil painting 40 years ago. My involvement in the arts community is with the Grand Marais Art Colony, and the Northern Lake County Arts Board.
My first career was with the U.S. Air Force as a Weather Officer. I served at Shepard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX, and Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. I am a certified meteorologist, passionate about weather, climate, and environmental stewardship.
My longest career was at 3M, as an analyst for International Export Services, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.
My first retirement job was an Historic Site Interpreter at Split Rock Lighthouse, often seen in a 1920's era Keeper's uniform, and leading tour groups, from one to one hundred visitors. Seasonal visitation, over 100,000.
My wife and I have been active Baha'is since 1973. Have visited the Baha'i World Center in Haifa, Israel four times.
I focus on community development As an active member of the Baha'i Faith, I avoid partisanship.
1. The Baha'i International Community (United Nations NGO) addresses my global concerns. The Baha'i Office of External Affairs makes direct contacts with U.S. Congress and the President. I take appropriate action with my Congressman and Senators when requested by the Baha'i National Assembly.
2. In the local context, I take social action with influential groups, friends, and coworkers. My reach extends throughout Northeast Minnesota, the Twin Cities, and Chicago.
3. I am an election judge in our local precinct, registered as Independent.
