I prefer political conversation to political combat. I have no problem with assertiveness or incisiveness, but ad hominem battles and Google-its are boring and a waste of time. Agreement, disagreement—who cares? Give me good humor (even if it's barbed) and intelligent commentary, and I'm a happy camper.

Political Views

Strong proponent of federalism. I have a great affection for the republican ideal of a virtuous citizenry, but I also believe in the vital necessity of free speech and free press.
