Democrats will be adding one more to their Senate majority after Cory Booker coasted to victory this evening. Mr. Booker won by over ten percentage points against his challenger, Steve Lonegan. While the race could have easily been held on November 5, the day of the gubernatorial elections, Governor Christie decided that it was imperative that the people of New Jersey head to the polls to elect their next Senator two weeks before they decide if he deserves a second term.

What does everyone think of Senator-elect Booker? Will he be a power broker in the Senate or does he have higher aspirations than being a legislator?

Perhaps he will be a better Senator than a Mayor, I just hope the voters in New Jersey voted on issues rather than personality.

Why mention that he is gay, if he is that is. I am so tired of the name calling, it does not help support anyone's position, the people of New Jersey voted a man in as their new Senator for a year, if he does well ,then they will give him a full term, whether or not he is all that you mentioned, as for his Republican opponent he stated his views and his position on the issues, and that's how the voters decided the race .

Because, and let's face reality, that's one reason you don't "approve" of him! I won't even get into his skin color because we all know how you feel about "those kind of people"

I don't remember saying that I don't approve of him, what I mentioned was that I hope he is a better Senator than a Mayor, and since when did you know what I feel about "those people", I can only assume that your speaking of the gay community in general, their life style doesn't mean squat to me, unless of course your speaking about religious issues, but that's only on that issue, nothing else about how I feel about "those people" could be known to you.

Listen, like I've been saying.....both parties represent corporations. I don't care who you place in that seat,,,, all bought and paid for. What has Corey Booker achieved of any kind of great significance in the political arena??? What about the Tea Bagger????? People will fight and argue their positions and defend their candidate vigorously not even sure if any one of these candidates have ever championed any causes, legislation, or amendments that benefitted prior constituents (IF ANY)

Booker and the Tea bagger represent their parties interest. Not ours.

When I first heard that Jesse Jackson's son was under federal investigation and the DOJ was empanelling a grand jury to consider an indictment,,,, I said to my brother, "He's going to claim child abuse,,, OR, He's going to commit himself..... Two weeks later he checks into a hospital citing mental illness.

I knew this not because I have a crystal ball, and not because I can read the future......I knew because the the United States sentencing guidelines grant sentencing departures for either child abuse issues that are documented.....or.....mental health issues.

He was facing 20 years in federal prison, Trust me, he would have gotten it. The feds used to allow military service, education, strong ties to community, and lack of criminal history as basis for allowing judges to downward depart your sentence. The Law changed in 95.....ONLY ABUSE AND CRAZY can reduce a sentence. His "stay" at the hospital provided the documentation.

The feds gave blagoyavitch 14 years for attempting to sell Obamas seat for 500,000. Jackson was accused of a lot more. Financial crime sentences are based on the dollar amount in question. The more money,,,the more time.... Mandatory Minimum sentences applied in his situation based on the amount. AM I A RACIST?
