Malcolm X is on of those figures that immediately elicits a strong reaction from a wide range of individuals. Many say that he was a patriot who fought tooth and nail against the sanctioned racism and discrimination that America was engaged in during the Jim Crow era. Just as many will say that he was a traitor that encouraged violence and anarchy in the name of black power. Both are partially correct. He was anti-integration and preached against the civil rights movement that was focusing on blacks and whites learning to live together, but I do ask if one can blame him? Was Malcolm X wrong for standing up for what he believed was best for his people or should be be commended for fighting for his cause, even it it was unpopular?
