The race is now set for the New Jersey special Senate election this October 16th. Newark mayor Cory Booker handily won the Democratic nomination while Tea Pary favorite Steve Lonegan won the Republican nomination. Mr. Booker is heavily favored to win the general election, especially since New Jersey has not elected a Republican to the Senate for over forty years.

Steve Lonegan is a former mayor of Bogota, New Jersey and was the state director of the right-wing advocacy group Americans for Prosperity from 1997 until 2013, when he took a hiatus to run for the open Senate seat. He is the typical anti-tax, anti-regulation, anti-everything Tea-Partier that should stand little to no chance of defeating the popular Newark mayor, even with the expected onslaught of outside dark money on Lonegan's behalf.

What does everything think about this special election? Will Booker easily win, as I believe, or will the far right be able to pull off a major upset?
