44 years ago today, Neil Armstrong first set foot onto the moon. Since then, man has returned to the moon 5 more, thrown up thousands of satellites, and landed a Chevy Tahoe size science lab with wheels on Mars. 11 months ago, about the same time Curiosity landed on Mars, Armstrong passed away and this is the first anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission since his death.
I hope soon that we soon return to the moon to set up a more permanent presence there. It would be easier and less costly to launch ships from the moon than it would be to launch them from Earth when we begin to explore more of our neighborhood.
What ever happens, Armstrong's achievments will never be forgotten
