There aren't many authors out there that elicit as strong a reaction from people as William Faulkner. A little known author for most of his life, Faulkner rocketed to fame seemingly out of nowhere and eventually earned a Nobel Prize in 1949. While some call his works pieces of art that are comparable to no one, others call his works a glorification of our nations racist past in the guise of "southern heritage."

What does everyone think of Faulkner and his writings? Was he an author that just wanted to explain the southern way of life, or was he a racist that glorified the antebellum?
