George was such a coward that after he shot Trayvon
he asked the first neighbor on the scene to help him restrain Trayvon. Truth is Trayvon was already restrained and dead.

I completely agree. Z. shot Martin because Z. couldn't fight as well as a scared kid. Because Z. was getting his Arse kicked he "Stood his ground"
I guess with, this logic a really bad fighter with a permit to carry could take out hundreds of people before authorities started to question the situations. I also agree that it has much to do with race. Notice Z's previous calls to 911. Seems he never calls about white people. After all, how could they seem suspicious...........or threatening.
I agree the prosecution has had some sketchy witnesses who didn't speak clearly, had a bad attitude, etc. Sad.
Bottom line and what we should all learn going forward. Get a permit to carry and anytime you're getting your butt kicked..... you can legally kill.
Then - as long as you are whiter than the victim, you should be just fine.

I think Z is guilty of something, probably a lot, but not sure of his guilt of murder, but I think Z is going to get off in this trial.

I only wish that President Obama, who is uniquely positioned to lead at this crucial time, would come out and lead, by saying that he wants no violence, no riots, from EITHER side, no matter the verdict. Maybe he will.

I hope that President Obama will do the right thing. Lives may be at stake.
And have a very happy 4th!

Here is my take on this.......

If I was walking home from a convenience store at night and someone was following me, I would find that threatening.

If I picked up the pace of walking and tried to lose the man following me, but he persisted in following....I would feel more threatened.

If he finally caught up with me, I would go into fight mode because of the threat to my security. I would think my assailant was about to do bodily harm.

This is what happened with Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.

For George Zimmerman to now plead self defense is ridiculous. He initiated the situation. He acted in a manner threatening to Trayvon Martin.

When George killed Trayvon he committed a crime.
I live here and we have to live and breath this every day since it happened. Travvon feared for his life, which anyone of us would do. Zimmerman was told to leave him alone by 911 Police were on there way. Trayvon did what anyone of us would do if we were being followed by a man much bigger than us. Any self Defense going on, belonged to Trayvon.

So Trayvon felt so threatened that he sucker punched George, then sat on his chest ,punching and banging George's head into the pavement and telling him, "tonight your going to die,", if that's called self defense then conversely George's idea of self-defense is just as creditable .

Sucker punched George..... according to George. George has the decided advantage that he can still talk / testify.
Telling him "tonight you're going to die" ..... again, according to George..... Hell George could make up pages of script about what Travon might have said. Why not throw in more graphic junk ? There's no logical way to think that George didn't initiate this. And, if GZ wasn't carrying a gun..... he would have just gotten his ass kicked.........."punching and banging George's head into the pavement": GZ needed a couple of band aides for the back of his head. TM needed a body bag.

It seems that lots of people think they "KNOW" what really happened that night, but they don't. They can't, because they weren't there. There's only one person alive who knows. He will tell his version for sure, and how much of it is the truth, no one can be sure.

What really matters is what the six jurors decide, not what the rest of us THINK we know.

No one on this forum KNOWS.

The only witness is George Zimmerman, there is no accounting for the cuts and bruise's sustained by George other than the defendants story, and having Mom testify only goes to show how weak the states case is, most states, Pa. being one, only allow fact witness 's to testify during a trial, the state is counting on an emotional appeal by the mother to help convict George, her statements should only be be allowed after a finding of guilt and to prove the impact of the crime against her son and also to persuade the Judge at sentencing to ask for the maximum sentence allowed by Law. BTW, the Judge can dismiss the charge of Second Degree Murder before the Jury gets the case and based on lack of evidence and then find George guilty of manslaughter instead..

The identity of the screamer is important. Why do they not take zimmerman to the scene - have the person pick up their phone and have him scream ? Would this not be if not conclusive at least indicative of who was in fact screaming ?

The replication of that scream would not be convincing enough given the different state of mind at the time of the re-enactment, although it would it seem logical that the man on top would not be screaming for help as he was in the superior position rather then it might have been the one under the man who claims that he had already suffered a broken nose and was having his head banged into the pavement several times.

    johnny,
Prior to the trial starting (about 7 days prior), an Audiologist who was hired by the nearest large newspaper testified in court that he examined the screams on the 911 call and with the aid of his computer software that is professional grade in this field, and as compared to known voice recordings eliminated GZ from being the screamer. Yes it wasn't a recording of GZ screaming but within this science, voice identification is much like fingerprint identification. This was testimony from an unbiased professional.
There was the pursued and the pursuer.

In all reality, there is no way that Trayvon could have uttered a word after he had been short. The proof shows that Trayvon was shot in a manner of a direct hit which would prevent him from uttering even one word, not a long three word phrase, yet, George Zimmerman stated that Trayvon said after he had been shot "You got me!" I can not see why the prosecutor have not brought this out in court. There is no way Trayvon could have uttered a word after having been shot through the heart or lung. It's impossible for him to have been able to say anything. Trayvon died instantly, therefore George Zimmerman is lying. As for the person who stated that he saw the whole thing, and called it in, his statement was truly a big lie. First of all he was to sure of his means of expressing what took place, ie, rendering martial art tactics, he realized that that sounded to fictitious, so he changed his wordings, and made it sound as though Trayvon was on top frailing. His whole testimony reaped of lies.

I do hope that this case does not turn out to be another Simpson case. That statement where Zimmerman said Trayvon said, "You got me" is one of the biggest lies he could have made. The officer that tried to render mouth to mouth on Trayvon should have understood this when Zimmerman said it. Tryvon's wound was fatal at the moment he was shot. Any medical examiner would witness to that. He would not be able to utter one word of that three word phrase that Zimmerman stated. The Simpson case, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" was the biggest lie of that case. Don't let Zimmerman's phrase "You got me" slip pass this case without being disputed!
