the link below (Koch brothers exposed) turned up this morning as a result of a posting from a Facebook friend:

If you've got the patience to spend an hour watching a TV show, I'd recommend watching it.

You may remember that "Citizen Koch" was due to be aired on PBS a while back. However, since David Koch is on the board of WNET (New York's public television channel) and has contributed $23 million to public television since the 1980's, the film never got to its intended viewing audience.

However, since the Koch brothers DON'T own YouTube (Google bought the company in 2006 for $1.65 billion) you can watch the whole thing here:

    Arizona --

Thanks for sharing the video of the Koch brothers. I would like to see it played on a major network. People need to be more informed about how they use their money to buy influence. This point sticks out regarding PBS:

"Today, the federal government contributes only 12% of public broadcasting’s costs. The rest comes from wealthy donors, corporations, and other non-governmental contributors. No better way to bring something (or someone) under control than to make them financially dependent, right?"

David Koch has contributed $23 million to public television since the 1980s.

PBS cannot be entirely independent and objective if they depend on donations from private corporations and individuals for their existence.

The thing is nothing in this country can be run as independant because there will always be influence peddling for one reason or an other.

I guess even if I would want to start a bakery and it works someone wants part of the take; the old maffia way.
Like I said many times we are not governed by who we elect, but by their lobbyists and rich cronies. The same applies to the media here.
Luckily I get the Dutch news channel, so I can clearly see the difference in how they here selectively give the news; as soon it is negative related to US things, which makes them look bad, it is not publisized here.

There's been a LOT of information posted on this site so far about the Koch brothers, but two articles that wound up in my inbox this morning provide EVEN MORE information about these two scoundrels.

Although both articles detail the tangled web of financial shenanigans orchestrated by them, the focus is slightly different.

Most intriguing is the article in the Huff Post, which details how the Koch brothers are actually THE people responsible for the government shutdown, which cost our economy $24 billion:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eric-zuesse/how-the-koch-brothers-did_1_b_4143928.html?ncid=txtlnkushpmg00000037

An article in yesterday's New York Times also goes into more detail about the shell game they use for campaign financing. In this case, however, a California law designed to prevent the sneaky tactics that they are prone to use achieved its purpose, and imposed a $16.000,000 fine on some of the groups involved:

Interesting information from Arizona....."Most intriguing is the article in the Huff Post, which details how the Koch brothers are actually THE people responsible for the government shutdown, which cost our economy $24 billion". If any truth to this, I'm not surprised. However, it is the covert forces against America, such as being discussed about the Koch brothers empire which makes NSA spying for personal data a necessity to prevent these treasonous acts on our society. Please all hackers in America locate the dope on the Koch brothers and provide this to the media.

The other post on NSA spying is going on at this time and I find this exactly why I support spying on people like the Koch brothers and businesses that have agendas to subvert our lives. This is a clear example of the shadows hiding covert activities that destroy our country.

This country still operates under One Person/ One vote.
The Koch brothers do this because WE allow them to. We actually help them with our silence, stupidity, and absolutely no desire to do our civic duties.

All the money in the world could never defeat One person/ One vote if people actually voted in their own interest. Stop pointing the finger outward.

The problem is in the mirror

Trumpstock was held in Kingman, Arizona on October 4-6> A quick review of the participants will confirm the fact that Trump supporters REALLY ARE deplorable.

Donald Trump Jr. has been touring college campuses recently, and he has met with protests just about everywhere that he goes. On Friday, he was at the University of Florida, but he had been at a campus in Phoenix about a week ago. His defenders say that he has a right to be there due to our guarantee of free speech - and they are right. However, when the Charles Koch foundation supports 300 campuses and 800 faculty positions, it's important to make sure that the universities make sure that REAL facts are presented as an alternative to their right wing talking points.

The latest update on Trump Jr. is that he will be at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix TONIGHT.

He will be accompanied by his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Charlie Kirk on their "culture war" tour. Their mission is to take on big government, culture, and the left. Kirk is the founder of Turning Point USA.

Turning Point USA is a nonprofit group with chapters on college campuses throughout the country. The group promotes free market capitalism and seeks to counter perceived liberal biases on campuses. On its website, the group says its mission is to "identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government."

Progressives and others, including other conservatives, have criticized Turning Point USA as racist and white supremacist, some instances of which were covered in a 2017 New Yorker piece about the group.

A student group invited Kirk and Trump Jr. and went through the university’s protocols to get the visit approved, GCU spokesman Bob Romantic said.

The event comes months after GCU came under fire from conservatives, including Kirk, for not allowing Ben Shapiro, another controversial conservative speaker, to speak on campus. GCU eventually reversed course, allowing Shapiro to speak at a relatively uneventful event in April.

(The article below has a link to the New Yorker article, which I would recommend reading.

If you need a reminder why Turning Point USA should not be on college campuses, consider this quote for JFK:

“If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.”

Trump Jr.'s speech Monday night (see below) contained the usual bullshit. Essentially what he, and other Republicans are saying, is that the liberal "socialist" ideas of the Democrats are the same as Communism. It's possible that he may have visited Czechoslovakia, but he could not have been more than 12, since Communism ended there in 1989.
