There has been some (pre-trial) testimony in the George Zimmerman trial. Audiologists testified on Friday about screams for help that were heard in the back ground during a 911 call. After Zimmerman had called in, a neighbor called 911 during the altercation. The specialists have determined that the cries for help were not made by G.Z..
It's said that MSNBC will have coverage of this trial. I fear there will be serious racial tensions during the trial. Perhaps that won't happen. We'll see what happens. Below is a story on the topic.

Tony I also have heard the report by the "specialists" that it was not GZ screaming. I would not be surprised if the defense has their own specialists come in and say that the screams WERE GZ. That's what happens in these high profile trials: both sides bring in their own "specialists" to say what their side wants them to say.

Lots of people have already determined that GZ is guilty and lots have determined that he is not. That's why we have a trial, to let the justice system decide and hopefully they will get it right. We will all have to wait and see.

I think you are correct about the racial tensions and if GZ is found not guilty there will probably be some, and maybe lots of violence. I hope that everyone will accept the verdict, but that may not happen.

Perhaps if the Media refuses to pander to the obvious racial overtones to this trial and just report and not speculate on the trial itself, I doubt that will happen as there is always the chance that a competing News station will get better ratings ,and that is what our news reporting has come down to, ratings.

johnny you are so right it is all about ratings and everything else including honest and straight reporting will be secondary. The racial aspect will be pushed into the commentary, and unfortunately sensationalism is what it takes to get the superior ratings.

If there is violence during or after the trial, the media racial sensationalism will be partly to blame.

    johnny, jamesn,
I agree the media has a way of escalating these matters with sensationalism. However, I believe that in this case it doesn't necessarily have to be media generated. I think the Martin side will feel that they are part of a pattern that has worked against them for decades. It's probably a sense of the results being inevitable.

Did you listen to the second two links ? First has the cries for help then the gun shots and then silence.

The second is G.Z. calling in with his speculations and his comment "They always get away" I found those two recordings to be very telling.

I catch the news highlights each morning at news.google. That's it for the day. Everything else presented as news is mostly noise and of no substance, and as I age I realize that less and less of even the real news has any impact on me and mine.

Tonyyou say that ..."the Martin side will feel that they are part of a pattern that has worked against them for decades"... and for good reason. For centuries blacks have been discriminated against in this country. And that has absolutely nothing to do with this trial.

This trial is about what happened that night, and not anything else.

Centuries of discrimination is not an excuse for violence if GZ is found not guilty. It may be the reason, but not an excuse.

    jamesn,
According to CNN, race is very much involved in the case as well as in the lives of this areas residents. Race to be a big factor in jury selection.
