It is official, Anthony Weiner is in the race for mayor of New York.

This is the one of the best things to happen in quite some time to Leno, Letterman, and the rest of the late night crew. Insert joke here.

Yes there will be a million jokes but reportably he is already second in one poll of Democratic candidates even though he just got in the race, and maybe he has a real chance to win. America is a very forgiving country and he's apologized and who's better?

It amazes me how we the people keep electing people who show all the signs of having hardly any intelligence, no common sense and
keep doing things on line or phone that is recorded for ever. (If you don't want your mother to see it or read it - --Don't do it!).

It amazes me how much people hold a double standard when it comes to our elected officials. I could care less about his or any other politicians personal matters and neither should you. When over 50 percent of all marriages in our country wind up in divorce court, it's hardly the layman's right to judge their elected leaders when it comes to infidelity. Mr. Weiner might have an issue with keeping things inside of his pants, but what does that have to do with being a good Congressman or Mayor? Any student of history fully understands that some of the best leaders we have ever seen in this country had rather scandalous personal lives. If being unfaithful to your spouse was a automatic disqualification, then we would be picking from an incredibly small pool of individuals to lead the country.

jared you ask ..."what does that have to do with being a good Congressman or Mayor?... and I say it matters because it shows lack of good judgement. It was an incredibly stupid thing to do, and it was not just a spur of the moment mistake because then he lied repeatedly about it but he has admitted his mistake so I say let him have another chance. Let him be in the race and he's not lying about it anymore, he's admitted he did it so if he thinks he can win this race let's just see what the voters decide.

By doing what he did he did not hurt anyone except himself and his family so that's why he deserves another shot at political office. You are right, if everyone who was unfaithful, ever made a stupid mistake, ever lied about their actions were eliminated from consideration for political office...yes that would eliminate most or maybe all of our politicians.

He did a very stupid thing then lied about it, that's "why it matters" because it showed very bad judgement, but I say he deserves another chance.
