The most appalling thing about this report is that people are saying we should "give these attackers a break because they've just come back from serving in Iraq and Afghanistan." So there is a "get out of jail free card" for serving your country overseas? Tell that to all the wounded, scarred, women and men who have also served or are going to serve in our wars, and their families and friends who are trying to help them overcome these atrocities. And the "chain of command" must be held accountable for ignoring and making it difficult if not impossible for those who have been raped or sexually assaulted to report to their commanding officer what has happened to them. Shame, shame on you!

In tonight's The Last Word, there was talk about Clinton as the "Comeback Kid" and comments about other miscreant politicians including Gary Hart and John Edwards, but no one seems to put Arnold Schwartenn-word in the same category. His unfaithfulness is at least as bad as John Edward..

For decades the military has covered up and played games with these rotten physical assaults, the punishment of these crimes needs
to be taken completely out of the chain of command and have some out of service commission in charge of the cases, with no interference
    from the military.

To be more sickening as an assault on women and to Mother's all over the nation on Mother's Day. Remember the recent vote in South Carolina, 1st District where Sanford was voted back into office after found guilty of House ethics violation using public funds to have an affair with his mistriss in South America. He didn't care for his wife and Mother of their children, he threw her away for some fling in South America. Yes, South Carolina, you showed the nation that you care less for the women and Mother's. Again, another example of women being second class citizens. You all..in South Carolina, have a Happy Mother's Day this weekend. Your vote indicates alot about your character as fine southern gentlemen. Women to you are nothing but bare-foot slaves cooking your food and having your babies. This vote of Sanford will be a day of reckoning in the future. Women all over America will not let this go. Women need to take control of the House and Senate, your future depends upon it. As for 2016, Go Hillary! Getting more women in charge will change the military's character on women.

No. What is appalling is the brain power in Washington who voted for this fiasco. Wasn't there anyone who could have predicted that this was the most probable outcome ? And if this is going on right within the ranks of the American services what might we imagine will happen when these women are captured by enemy combatants ?

Really? We should have an all male or all female army because we can't expect our soldiers to not sexually assault people? If we can't expect our trained military who defend our country to abide by our laws, how can we expect our civilians, we shouldn't allow women in any aspect our society. Equality just causes people to get sexually assaulted.

I say punish the wrongdoers to the full extent of the law.

As for the captured by enemy combatants, women would face the same dangers as men do when captured.

I could very well be wrong but I believe it's possible you deleted my post concerning the nature of "law" a few days ago. If so you can probably guess that you and I would have some trouble agreeing on matters of law. In any case, this is more a case of asking people to think reasonably before acting.... especially those responsible for putting others in harm's way. The extent of the problem now should indicate that this might have been predicted, and as a matter of fact, a few people did. And based on the massive number of incidents ....no, " we can't expect our soldiers not to sexually assault people." I think your assessment of the young American male character may be in need of an adjustment. Given the fact of availability, proximity, and the fact that they are currently being trained to be excessively aggressive, I'm surprised that anyone would be surprised. This does not excuse the behavior. I believe it helps to explain it.

Looking for THE CURE for Sexual Assault in the Military.

Why do men attack women sexually? Human hormones, a natural occurrence after puberty. When men are put into isolated regions where they can not have normal contacts (socially) with women, & their lives may be in danger by enemy attack, the survival instinct goes into effect, where the male unconsciously needs to ensure "survival of the species" by the sex act. (A primitive impulse).

Part of this problem could be prevented by stationing women only stateside, not overseas in any isolated or combat zones. Then they could not be a victim due to their being the only available female for thousands of miles, who presumably could speak English. However, women would then be in a position where they could be denied promotions, & thus receive unequal opportunity for higher rank & salary.

I have heard from older veterans that in basic training they were forbidden to masturbate, in their own bunk at night, or in the shower, or anyplace else. And this rule was part of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, so if caught doing so, they would actually be dishonorably discharged.

This warning was given also with the reinforcement that a Dishonorable Discharge on your record was just as big a blemish as a Felony Conviction, and would guarantee that you would never get a civilian job. Your whole life could be ruined (just for masturbating).

So now What is a Young Man to do? He can't even approach a foreign woman for "paid sex" since Military Law forbids soliciting sex & prostitution, as against their moral code, and conduct unbecoming an officer. However, not paying her would be equally wrong, since any form of extramarital sex is prohibited. Even extra-marital sex between consenting adults. Plain old Adultery may be cause for dismissal.

SO we are looking for the CURE --- the REAL solution to all these problems.

At this point, we know RAPE is not allowed, soliciting prostitutes is forbidden, & even masturbation is illegal. The Military exercises total control over its new recruits, & combat-ready soldiers. This leaves very few options. VERY FEW.

After due consideration by our panel of experts, they have come to this conclusion:

All young Men in military service must be issued a heavy-duty life-size inflatable latex Doll.
And whatever they happen to do with it: --- it is None of our Business : )
