So three more people have been arrested in connection to the Boston Marathon Bombings. With the information that has been released, they seem to be accessories after the fact, by trying to destroy evidence. Taking backpacks full of emptied fireworks and a laptop out of the apartment of one of the suspects and tossing them in a dumpster.

I'll keep this thread open for discussion and updates on this development.

These guys are almost as dumb as the bombers. Did they think no one would be watching the bombers home? Send them back to Russia after they have served their sentences...AFTER their day in court, of course.

Bad news for Dutch, sorry but you are going to be getting a LOT more boston bombing news after this development.

I guess no bad news for me, but for them. I'll just enjoy life and always can turn off the gook box and switch to the more pleasant Dutch news.

That's the right attitude Dutch. You can't stop the overblown "news" but you can ignore it and sometimes that's better than watching it.

This seems like a very light weight story. These 3 threw away some trash and got rid of a laptop. Not saying it wasn't helping the bombers but it seems pretty mild to me. Unless there's more to the story.

Throwing something away that may be evidence in a bombing and may offer clues as to the real motivation of the bombers and possibilty where they received their training ,if any,is not minor news, I think they could be charged as obstruction/hindering an official investigation or maybe even as co-conspirititors. The FBI already is being portrayed as bumbling by some members of the Media, I don't believe they will let these 3 individuals escape any consquences for their actions, however how minor.

I agree. Helping hide or destroy or cover up the evidence of one of the first successful terrorist attacks on American soil since 9-11...not a small deal. If these guys knew the scope of what they were doing then they should rightfully pay the price.

And how can they argue that they did not know what they were doing? What can they possible say? "We just went into our friends room and removed a laptop and a backpack with fireworks remains and we took those items and threw them into a dumpster. It just happened to be 3 days after a terrorist bombing...just a coincidence."

    Yeah, right.

Obstructing justice, destroying evidence, lying to investigators, lets see what else the investigation turns up.

True, however, they already knew/know that they purchased the fireworks and they know the store where they bought them, what they purchased and the date it was purchased. These 3 threw away the empty fireworks. Trash. Because they knew what was purchased and why, that's why I think it's of minimal. The laptop is much more important. At least potentially.

I think on a case of this importance there are no minor details. You may think of some of this stuff as minimal, the investigators would probably have a very different opinion. If the gunpowder residue from the empty fireworks matches the gunpowder from the bombs, that may actually be a big deal. We agree that the laptop could be a very important tool.

Disposing of evidence and lying to investigators is not a small thing. The feds take a very negative view of being lied to as Martha Stewart found out.
