Lots of stuff happened last night and today leading up to the 2nd suspect being cornered in a boat in a Police Operation. Here is a thread for people to discuss the manhunt search, police response, Boston shutdown of the city and the final outcome we are waiting on....

It's 8:45 and I've just heard the suspect is alive. That's great. I want to hear the explanation of why this was done.

Easy to read clarifications of from live thread:
Suspect 1 [Black hat]: Deceased according to all sources

Suspect 2 [White hat]: Surrounded and hiding in a boat in Watertown (Edit: Suspect CONFIRMED in custody; condition is unknown; presumed alive)

Old Man in jacket with device: nsure if connected. EOD robots disarmed jacket and EMS responded. No further updates. He was spoken to through a Russian translator and was cooperative (it seems). Once handcuffed, he arched his back in an apparent attempt to release the bomb, or maybe just to make sure he didn't push his button.

Hostage Lady: Misunderstanding; She saw man with gun and called her mother, mother called cops. The man with gun was an officer.

Vehicles: Quite a few vehicles reported, last I heard, all are accounted for.

Last night's events: Bomber suspects ARE NOT the same ones who robbed a 7-11. They did fueled up at a Shell station without incident.

Suspect family: Uncles urge 'White Hat' to turn himself in and are ashamed by their nephews actions. Father maintains his son's innocence and wants them taken alive.

Social Media: There was a fake twitter account going around, Suspect's really twitter account is boring and doesnt seem relevant. (teenager stuff)

I heard on the news that suspects did not rob 7-11 but when cops came they thought they were after them. That's why they killed the cop.

I am glad this person is now in custody without further loss of life for everyone concerns, however if the Media starts their own spin/speculation and begin seeking out our own left & Right wing extremists for opinions and comments will undermine this investigation, there will be some who look for political gain or others will to attempt to demonize the oppostion party's views, so in the coming weeks, more likely months, watch all of the news show, along with the usual Liberal or Conservitive shows to become fully informed and then make up your minds. My condolences go out to all of the families of people who were murdered by these two and I wish a speedy recovery for all the injured.

    Yeah,
You're right johnnycee. When watching future news stories.... consider the source. Many effected will never fully heal.

Vladamir Putin sent his condolences to Barack Obama over this tragedy. Of course with him hating the Chechens, it was probably a loaded statement.

Chechen rebels stated that they had no involvement in this incident.

There was a kid from Morocco who was said to be the suspect yesterday. Apparently he looked much like the picture put out there. I bet he's glad this is over. Many thought it was a picture of him. He had gone to the marathon. He went to police to advise it was not him that was responsible.

Yes you are absolutely right; I followed the story a bit; at a given moment I was ready to puke of all the hype; I've got a feeling that quite a few Americans get a "kick" out of this since they love war movies. Also I wonder if our "army" like police force beat up the kid, so he can not testify.
Sure all kind of games will be played; the proof that indeed these kids did it is still not proven in court. I guess laws only apply to us dumb people.

I don't know if they beat him up or not,but he looked pretty bloodied up in that one picture that was being circulated, and it looks like the uncle knows us americans pretty well by his rant on his nephew/s telling to turn himself in and beg for forgiveness and that their terrorist activities do not represent the Familys values or his former country,he went on to say that they brought shame on the Family's name and their birth country.I don't know if he meant it or was trying to mollifiy the need for vengence as this country's citizens often are willing do to vent their anger or frustration, I hope it works.

The kid was bloody because he had been shot when his brother was killed.
What troubles me is that they didn't read the kid his Miranda rights. Why ? They couldn't spare another 2 minutes. Hell they were already there in force. It just seems like it would have been a good idea or at least it couldn't hurt.
A few Senators want the kid treated as an enemy combatant. Someone on CNN said that wouldn't be appropriate because he's an American citizen.
I hope they have this kid on a suicide watch. We need an explanation.
Should the kid have an attorney ? Seems typical in our country.
Russia wants to cooperate in the investigation.

After all of the serious comments.... here's a weird question. Doe's this boat now sell for 75,000.00 because it's provenance in a world famous crime fight/search. I bet there are a class of people who collect things with historic significance.

Hoping y'all noticed that Mrs Obama visited the hospital room of the injured bomber....and shall
we wonder why she did not visit the boy who was in the same hospital that lost both his legs in
    the bombing?

The other thing I noticed was this Obama speech in a church for the "show"; instead he should have accompanied his wife and visited the victims at the hospital; this would have given him more credit than a for him written speech.

Yes your last line shows how nuts this world has become; I've got a bottle of which Al Capone had his last drink; too bad his finger prints are no longer on it. Nuts!!
