The Respect State Marijuana Laws Act has five co-sponsors on both the Republican and Democratic side of the aisle, including Reps. Justin Amash, R-Mich., Don Young, R-Alaska, Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., and Jared Polis, D-Col. It will be introduced by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif.

If passed, the law would immunize pot users and business owners in the states of Colorado and Washington, which both voted in November to make marijuana legal for people over the age of 21.

This has an actual shot of passing. It just amends the federal law over controlled substances, as opposed to upending it. And, it respects state's laws. I think this would be a good move to circumvent the ultra-confusing and unfair situation that residents of CO and WA find themselves in with respect to marijuana; their states now say it's legal, but the federal government does not. I hope this law passes.
