"After the neo-Nazi publication Nazi Daily Stormer published her home address, she thought it would be wise to buy a gun."

    So who do you shoot?

    The National School Walkout

what will it prove? what will be accomplished? congress is numb on gun control. Governor Rauner (R) IL, vetoed a gun bill yesterday, claimed that gun control laws don't work. In the bill he vetoed was a new state law requiring gun dealers be registered with the state, the Bauer Bill was along in the legislation, it was to ban large magazines, a ban on possessing body armor by citizens.

Frankly, IMHO, not enough human beings have died from gunshot wounds at one time. If 300 people were killed by a single gunman, then maybe congress will take some action. In the meantime, their hearts and minds sympathize with the wounded and grieving family members.

What will it accomplish ? Hopefully it has people talking about the issues. If people notice - agree - and vote, Well then we're getting somewhere.

Well, the place Trump won by 20% in Pennsylvania just went blue last evening. Some places have flipped to blue. Does that mean people have buyer's remorse for going hard right? If I were a dem running for office, I wouldn't be complacent in thinking they're going to pull off a wave, I would be sending the message that dem voters need to get off of their asses and go vote.

The only thing that will get people going on gun laws is to strip NRA funding. They're the reason we're in a rock and hard place now. The second amendment needs to be amended IMHO.

On this matter I am just going to quote American kids:

No kid should be afraid to go to school.

No kid should be afraid to walk outside.

No kid should have to worry about being shot.

More prayers, Jesus god and compassion won't bring back the American kids MURDERED BY GUN VIOLENCE.

I blame the government for what happened and the hypocritical people sending prayers and condolences but refusing to do anything.

And, I am going to add, I am getting damn tired of those who value their damned AR15s more than they value the lives of American kids.

Almost exactly 50 years ago, a Republican governor in a Western state said this:

“I see no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons". He also said that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will."

The governor, of course, was Ronald Reagan, but it is extremely unlikely than ANY Republican governor today would publicly say the same thing that he said 50 years ago.

Then, as now, the best way to force politicians to do what you want them to do is to use organized protests (and 500,000 people will be in D.C. in about a week to protest congressional inaction on gun control)

In 1967, black people were being harassed by the police in Oakland, California. In order to protect their fellow citizens, a new organization called the Black Panthers started armed patrols of the neighborhoods in order to advise the citizen of their rights. Because California law at the time allowed citizens to openly carry loaded weapons, they did.

A Republican congressman named Don Mulford became alarmed at what he saw as civil unrest, and filed a bill in the legislature on April 5 that would prohibit citizens from carrying loaded weapons on the street.

Naturally, the Black Panthers were not pleased.

On May 2, a group of Panthers loaded their weapons into their trunks, and drove to Sacramento. Once they got there, they took their weapons out of their trunks, and marched into the legislature. By coincidence, Ronald Reagan happened to be in the legislature that day.

Naturally, the members of the legislature had what could charitably described as an “oh shit” moment, and Mulford’s bill was rapidly pushed through the legislature, and signed into law On July 26.

In a later press conference, Reagan added that the Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen."

Guy, this exactly shows how screwed up this country is; and that only for a wrongly written 1800's piece of paper which "crooks" maintain it is applicable for 2018, without any proof whatsoever. So in other words I can park a cannon in my yard and shoot anyone who comes close. A very weird country for sure. Like I said; this antique document is only applicable for the period it was written and should have been cancelled when the "militia" (who were the only ones addressed) was terminated, as well should have been amended as a "living" document adapted to changing times and "technical advances", however our government was too lazy/ignorant to do the proper things, because of receiving "money" from this industry as well lobbyists, which was much more important than lives. Yes an glorified corrupt lawless country, which refuses to set things straight. Chicken heads for sure since the NRA is the "boogie" man.

Anyone who states that they will not support gun control can only be considered a sociopathic soulless degenerate supporting the slaughter and maiming of 10's of thousands of Americans each year and is a stupid bastard.

Given the rise in trump as the iconic symbol for sociopaths everywhere, there is a realistic chance North will run for office or be appointed to a high level position in the WH.

Nobody can come up with "gun control" other than the two words

    "gun control".

    What is gun control?

Well, I might sign onto banning assault type weapons, e.g. AK47's, AR15"s, banning bump stocks nationwide, limiting or banning high capacity gun clips/magazines, strengthening background checks, strengthening laws pertaining to gun dealers, making background checks mandatory for gun show purchasers or all out banning of gun shows period. Trump often says that the city of Chicago has the strongest gun laws and gun bans in the country, this is false. Another thing would be making it illegal for lawmakers to accept political contributions by the NRA, and prohibit the NRA from influencing lawmakers. Repeal or amend the second amendment.

Yesterday, while bbq'ing pork chops on my Weber grill, there were 5 little children running around with water (guns and pistols) and one happened to hang outside of our fenced backyard and watched us grilling, he said "I have a gun" and I quipped at him "you don't need a gun", you should have seen the look on his little face, he was shocked. He was about 7 years old.

What gun control? There is none! I likely get faster an speeding ticket than "gun control" Even Trump's sweetheart sons love guns and hug the leaders of the NRA and then shoot some elephants, because you can't miss them. In the meantime the school kids who demonstrated all over are left in the cold and are conveniently forgotten. That is today's America.

Trump: We're going to do everything to protect the children and schools.

    except pursue gun control

He didn't say that, but that's what he meant. He too is held hostage like his counterparts in congress by the NRA.

So, what do they want? Gun control or more dead kids and more massacres with repeating guns?

It's looking more like they prefer the latter. Since the Florida school shooting, we have not heard a peep about gun control legislation.

I say fuck the second amendment, it does not apply to this day and age. Repeal it or disable it.

    Look at the statistics:

There were 640 Murders / Homicides in Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) in 2011/12 (10.43 per million population) Of these 640 Murders / Homicides, 44 involved a gun or firearm as the main weapon. Gun murders in Britain in 2011/12 represent 6% of the murder cases, (0.72 gun homicides per million population).

    Amerika's gun culture:

In the United States, the death rate from gun homicides is about 31 per million people — the equivalent of 27 people shot dead every day of the year.
