Mr. Korn: Do we know where the assault rifles are manufactured? My cursory examination over the internet strongly indicates that they are manufactured overseas. If so is all this NRA rant about protecting a manufacturing sector that is basically outsourcing gun manufacture? If so there seems to me a good populist argument in de-fanging the NRA. And that may explain the need for these unregulated gun shows as launderers of outsourced guns. It wouldn't look good if the manufacture was directly selling to the miscreants using these weapons to wreak havoc.

I really do not know whatyour actual point is. Regardless of where it is manufactured; money flows to certain pockets; so do not worry someone in the US is making money of it regardless.

I do know that Remington arms,Colt Mfg, and Smith & Wesson are made here, also Winchester may still be in business, but with all of the Companies merging and being subsidized by other larger Corperations its hard to figure out who actually owns what. There is probably somewhere in some exotic locale a small group of men who in theory own everything.
