The White House has an interactive section on their official website to submit petitions to now. They have been doing this for several months now. I thought I would create a forum post to inform people on this site. Also, add ideas for petitions here and maybe, if we can get a good consensus, one of us can write up the petition and we can collectively submit one ourselves.
The petition currently needs 100,000 people to electronically 'sign' it to force the Obama Administration to address it. That's the rule. Get 100,000 people to add their name to your petition WITHIN 30 days, and Obama WILL address and answer it.
Here's the site. Check out the current petitions and add the ones HERE that you think are important.

Here is one that I think needs to be pushed and supported, big time!
(Once you add your name and email to the list, you can share the link via Twitter, Facebook, and/or email.)
Veto the Monsanto Protection Act. Monsanto damages the environment and in doing so they commit Crimes Against Humanity.
