There has to be one person that holds the title of shortest lived Presidency and that title belongs to President William Henry Harrison. Mr. Harrison delivered a two hour inaugural address (the longest in America's history) without a coat or hat in the pouring rain, and then proceeded to ride on horse back instead of a closed carriage for the duration of the inaugural parade. Twenty days later President Harrison came down with a terrible cold and was dead less than two weeks after that.

It is impossible to know what a Harrison Administration would have done, but he did express that he wanted to reestablish the Second Bank of the United States and promised to defer to Congress on as many matters as possible. His death elevated John Tyler, who had little interest in pursuing the legislative priorities of his predecessor, and cemented President Harrison's place in history as little more than a footnote.
