Of course it was God, who else would have made man a good animal, the atheist, or the religious extremist, I don’t think so. Had it not been for God, man would be no different than any other animal at the top of the food chain, doing what they need to survive with no care for other animals or other humans. But because of God, man has human emotions and man does good, no other animal has a clue what human good or God mean, but thanks to God, man is the only animal that knows good. Good and caring Emotion doesn't come from evolution and Mother Nature, it can only come from God. Atheist or not, you better thank God for that, because without God, there would be no civilization or good in man.

All that you give God credit for in the above can be explained another way. A species that is intelligent and of a semi-herd mentality will come up with rules for operating that society. Long before God told the Israelites how to behave towards each other he had secretly told previous societies. Now explain why a God has to go under cover to delivery obvious info.

This is quite a stretch of your imagination! Do we actually know that "God" speaks or writes (if she does speak or write) in English?

A very strange subject indeed; please tell me where and when you met this "figure": what does it look like, can it speak, walk, has it got one eye or four, can it fly, is it a baby? (like jesus) how many guns does it own? does it have to eat?, go to the bathroom? does it carve stone tablets? can it walk on water? does it control lightning, hurricanes, flooding? Where does it reside? have you been there and seen the place? can it hear prayers?
Does it have ears or a cell phone? Does it get cancer? Does it compose church songs? Does it have fingers who can pull triggers? Does it know that there are thousands of different churches, let alone religions? Does it know that churches do all kindof crazy things in "his/her,its"? name?
Does it know how many witches were burned on the stake by the catholic church? Does it know that the Mormons own half of Vegas? etc. etc. etc.
Just answer al these questions and sent me a picture of the whole "god" family please. (not a painting made by Micheangelo)

I really very much enjoy visiting this Political site. I personally believe that 1 in 20 threads should involve religion. Not 1 in 5. Who put the s,a,t, in Saturn ? Satan. Who put the d,e,v,i,l, in deviled eggs ? the devil. This could go on forever.

    united,
You should be less sensitive. If you're going to discuss topics where many have different opinions, there will be responses that don't mirror your own. As I stated earlier, religious topics are fine but this is "The Democratic Hub" Advanced Liberal Political Community as it says above. Sometimes 1/3 or 1/4 of the topics seem to mention religion, Hell, God, or something else related. Even much of the political talk has religious overtones.

"McClellan" I fully agree and mentioned quite a few times not to drag in religion in worldly affairs; for instance dragging in "god's" into a "gun" discussion is rather strange etc. Thanks for your view. I kind of "bite" when it irritates me.

I understand this is a political web site, but they do have religion as one of their topics. I don't read every topic, I suggest you don't read the topics you don't agree with, then this site will be the politics you want it to be and not the issues you do not want to see and comment on. As far as people bringing God into politics, you have to understand, not everyone thinks without God in their thoughts. Even the founding fathers had God in their thoughts when they wrote our constitution, for some people this is just who and how they think, are saying these people are not entitled to their thoughts if it involves God or something else you cannot prove for sure, if so you are not practicing what you preach? If you didn't know that my thread was about religion, next time I will post that on the top of my thread so no one has to see the words they can not grasp or want to see.

The reason God goes under cover can be explained in a simple quote I wrote: "If we could see heaven we would all want to go, leaving God nothing to judge our soul."

Actually the origins of the word evil come from the Germanic word "Übel." The Dutch adopted the word but it was spelled "euvel." As the English language developed, the word was adopted and the spelling eventually changed.

The word "good' also traces its roots to the Germanic tribes. "G┼Źdaz" is the base word.

So, as you can plainly see, the words "good" and "evil" have no supernatural origins. They came from the pagan languages of European barbarian tribes.
