Martin Van Buren, our 8th president, was quoted saying this soon after he left office, relieved the job was actually over. He only served one term. I think this perfectly sums up just how stressful and unnerving the position of POTUS actually is. No one leaves without considerable wear and tear. And, the younger presidents that go in youthful(ish) for their age, typically resign with a full head of gray hair. Or, they get shot. Or, die shortly after the stint. Tough gig, no doubt. Would you take the presidency, if offered? All things considered, I would say no thanks.
