In case anyone was wondering what the new 113th Congress was going to do first, Michelle Bachmann has just tweeted:

"At noon today, I introduced the first bill of the 113th Congress to repeal Obamacare in its entirety." -- Michele Bachmann

I guess the fact that the House voted 30 times to kill ObamaCare in the 112th Congress wasn't enough. Michele Bachmann and the Tea Party lives on...

Someone, even some mental-case pervert, needs to kidnap or assault this poor excuse for a human being and scare the daylights out of her, maybe even enough to convince her to withdraw from her legislative office. That would be one of the nicest New Years present I could imagine.

If we as citizens stay vigulant and get oyt and HOUND the lazy TV watchin nonvoters to do there part, and keep a DEMOCRATIC Senate it won't happen. If you are so worried about it don't just say it here go out and tell those who you know to send a message to Congress that we want a BILL Killing not only THEIR HEALTH CARE but also to end a few other of their bennys such as huge pensions, the right to take unspent LOBBYIST campaign money with them when they leave office and huge salaries while they represent us.If that doesn't shut them up lets start talking WORK STIKE!But the COWARDS of this Nation will never do any thing like that so enjoy the ride down.It will be QUICK!

If you would stop worring about what all of the STUPID people are doing and start talkin about a reasonable solutions that evryone could live with you might actualy start to make a difference. What is the one most important thing you think this NATION needs to have our officials work to CHANGE?? write it down and Mail it to your Congress. Then go out and share it everyday with your fellow CITIZENs.That is what I do.

I've been reading the book "Idiot America" it's very discouraging to realize just how many Americand are so confused about science, religion and reality in general! Even the so called "educated" people are willing to accept, or worse promote, any pseudo scientific theory without question because they are too lazy to ask the correct questions or think for themselves.

The USA has become a country of misinformed fools and instead of becoming more educated and enlightened just the opposite as occurred.

it's no wonder we are the laughing stock of the intelligent world when you look at our political and religious, so called, leaders!

And to think here all of this time I thought the unfettered right to have your own OPINION was what made America GREAT.How about stop criticizing others for having a different opinion YOU and start writing what some of the solutions you think will work down!!!That might be a lot more PRODUCTIVE.

Sorry again, "michaels" gave his opinion as he sees it, and I fully agree with him. This Bachman woman is indeed a piece of uneducated garbage.
So please attack me now for having an opinion.

It's NOT an opinion! This woman is a certified loony. Only in the USA would a nut case like she and many, many others for that matter, have the slightest chance of winning an election.

Opposite opinion is one thing, ignorance and stupidity is another! Ever hear of Sarah Palin, Allen West and a host of others that are too numerous and sickening to repeat ? I suppose they just have "another opposite opinion "?

Idiot Amerca is an important, but deeply disturbing book. I found the last chapters to be the most valuable. If you haven't yet read it I think you would also find a book titled....The New Jim Crow...to be an eye popper. These books are necessary and extremely informative. The only problem I have with them is that that they leave you with the impression that nothing can be done to stop the runaway locomotive that is moden American sociiety. I don't like to think that this is true, but I'm leaning more that way with each passing day.

"pgr/leftofcenter" I did not read that book but I can just about guess what it says. "Left" sees it the right way. Since I still have daily contact and news from Europe, they are totally amazed what is happening here from day to day. At least down there they have the guts to not kick the can down the road and have decent gun laws etc. I saw again 4 people dead due to a police standoff. Also "defence budgets" are there insignificant compared to here. But as I said in another thread this can be a number a number 1 country, if "the culture" as "schmidt" described changes.
Of course I'll get the remarks: if you do not like it here then leave; sure, and leave you guys with the shit? No way!! I'm trying and a lot of others, I've noticed, to make this a better country through education and mentality change as well cultural development.

Dutch if someone doesn't like it here then it's their choice to get the hell out or stay and fight the good fight with the rest of us! You seem like you have the right idea, stay and try to make this a better country and by having lived in more than one country, you have a better, or at least a different perspective. You know that there are no perfect countries, all have their own problems and the US is no different. Our political system, gun laws, tax problems, and plenty of other issues can be improved. There's nothing wrong with being critical but it can be in a constructive way. I still think the US is the best country in the world and will defend it...simple as that.
