    There we have it.

    MORE GUNS

    MORE VIOLENCE

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

FUCK the NRA! and EVERYTHING they stand for.

My thesis for this thread: Philosophically, there are too many guns in America. Too much violence, and this violence, this mindset of killing other citizens, is perpetuated by the National Rifle Association...Oh yeah...FUCK the NRA!

    Bill:

I agree with you - there are way too many guns in this country. The most accurate count that I've seen puts the number at
300,000,000 firearms (rifles, handguns, and shotguns) and 240,000,000 machine guns.

In my opinion, Wayne LaPierre is more than a little nuts, but he's got lots of company. The link below will give you a few more
of my thoughts on the guy:

    http://tohell-andback.blogspot.com/2012/08/impeach-wayne-lapierre.html

Fortunately, the NRA has lost its iron grip on our legislators. In the November 6 election, candidates that were backed by the NRA
did HORRIBLE. Less than 1% of the NRA's American Political victory Fund money backed winning candidates.

    http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/11/08/1166291/the-nra-got-its-clock-cleaned-on-election-day-and-planned-parenthood-cleaned-house/

In stark contrast to the NRA's record was the success rate of Planned Parenthood. 98% of the money spent by Planned Parenthood went to winning candidates.

Interestingly enough, the first Planned Parenthood clinic in Arizona was started by Barry Goldwater's wife, a fact that Rick Satorum is either
unaware of, or chooses to ignore.

Taken together, both of the tidbits shown above show voter trends so obvious that you'd either have to totally stupid, or a die hard Republican,
to not notice them. I'll also admit that "totally stupid" and "die hard Republican" aren't necessarily mutually exclusive terms.

I'm somewhat encouraged by Obama's statement today (And we're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics), but don't expect to see any real change anytime soon.

FUCK the NRA. The horse they rode in on and ALL of their members.

A man, a real man, does not need a political club behind him to own or to use a gun.

The NRA is evil but it does provide a group for frightened, immature, individual gun owners.

    NRA= Fear, Profit, Violence

There IS NO positive humane morality associated with the NRA.

Why are people soooo afraid of arguing against guns?

If guns kill people, or assist in killing, why would a christian not want guns eliminated?

A manufactured mental mistrust of all government has assisted the growth of the NRA and has helped in destroying the once greatest country, my country, America.

FUCK the NRA. They are beyond un-American, the NRA is anti-American.

The NRA is just the sales arm of the gun industry, nothing more.

Their only job is to make sure people are still purchasing guns and getting the misinformation to do so.

What bothers me about the NRA is their complete denial of the relationship between guns and murder, slaughter, crime, and death. Wayne should be described as Li'l Wayne, because of the size of his brain, or at least the portion of it that is sane and rational.

I am so glad that drunk driving is illegal. I sure do feel confident that nobody in America is going to get killed by a drunk driver. The good thing about guns is that I can actually protect myself. If you don't keep a gun in your house and someone breaks in, I am sure that you will be wanting to call someone that DOES have a gun and I am willing to bet that whoever does have one will not show up nearly as fast as you would like them to.

I think the examples that you used are perfect.

In reality, our shared reality, drunk driving is so heavily fined in America with possible jail sentences included, that most responsible individuals think twice before drinking and driving. Government serves a deterrent to her citizens. Rightfully so.

America, as in most civilized societies, has a police force. A police force exists to interpret, establish and enforce the laws of the land.

We are allowed to have guns within our homes. We don't need assault rifles there.

We don't need to hunt with automatic assault rifles.

We don't need guns in bars, churches, or schools.

    Thank you for the examples.

Everyone benefits from responsible, common sense, gun laws.

    ...oh yeah...FUCK the NRA.

Sure; I just read onthe news the AR-15 (whatever) gun was sold out in the gun shops; thus make the number of guns in the US 330 million now.
It just about looks like the NRA and gun industry, loves these things as a great marketing tool thanks to those dead little kids!! May be this is not yet the end of the world, but certainly the end of any decency and brains in a huge part of the population. If we continue on this path not the world will end but the US as a livable place.

At last! Someone I can discuss things rationally with. You are rational, are you not, in spite of your use of vulgarity in a matter of some importance? I have a question for you: Since you obviously disparage the NRA (so do I; they are far too willing to compromise with idiots) I would like to ask you this: What punishment do you think should befall principals, faculties, teachers, clerks, janitors and other employees of schools who haven't the courage and foresight to stop criminal murdering maniacs with force of arms?

Another person who finds it necessary to resort to vulgarity to denigrate political civil rights. Let's see what I can do with your list of talking points, such as they are.

With regard to your first sentence, I wonder why you oppose the largest civil rights organization in the United States, even though they aren't the most effective?

Then you say, "A man, a real man, does not need a political club behind him to own or to use a gun." True, but then he (and she) will often need one to organize resistance against those who would destroy their civil rights.

And then you suggest the NRA is composed of frightened, immature, individual gun owners. Really? Perhaps you could define what makes you suggest something so ridiculous? Do I sound frightened of a bunch of liberal airheads? And don't you think resorting to vulgarity is pretty immature?

And then you say, NRA = fear, profit, and violence. Really? I don't know of any fearful NRA members. I might be persuaded on the profit issue -- they have done a lot of things that might be based on profit, like not wanting to oppose the (illegal, unconstitutional) ATF for fear it might leave them with nothing to do. And violence? No, the NRA believes in exercising our American right to stop violence when it is encountered. And we do, whenever we can.

You say, "There is no positive, humane morality associated with the NRA." To the contrary, we believe women have a right to defend themselves from assault and rape and domestic violence, whereas, you believe they are not worthy of any such right. Don't you? I mean, you want them disarmed and helpless against any assailant twice their size with a knife, baseball bat, or gun, don't you? No, I think I'll respect their morality more than yours.

You ask, "Why are people soooo afraid of arguing against guns?" Good question. Maybe because they haven't a viable argument to stand on? Maybe because they can't win any such argument on the facts? Maybe because they don't like losing?

You ask, "If guns kill people, or assist in killing, why would a christian not want guns eliminated?" Because Christians believe in the Bible (or much of it) and the Bible counsels that if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. It also counsels that lethal force may be used to stop lethal force from being used.

Somehow you are linking the NRA to the destruction of America, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since the Marxists, liberals, and Progressives (Oops, sorry, redundant) have done more to destroy what America stands for that all her other enemies in history, and Marxist Obama has done more in four years to destroy what America stands for than done in the last sixty. Oh, but maybe you think America stands for freebies for everyone and anyone working to produce something should be taxed out of existence. Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg!

Considering the legal, moral, traditional fact that America was founded as the first and only nation founded on liberty in the history of the world, and that our founding fathers included the Second Amendment because they KNEW a bunch of yo-yo's would do their best to confiscate our means of preserving our liberty, I would say your claim that the NRA is anti-American is a bunch of hogwash.

Oh... and Merry Christmas, by the way.

    tl;dr

Your response looks like the typical cat trying to cover her shit on a marble floor.

If you are a member of the NRA you are like the NRA's top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, a coward.

Fill the space up with as many words as you wish. Mine stand.

"bill" You are right, however your wording could be tempered a bit; whatever way you write it, then also your message will come to the attention of the readers; your intentions a fine, but may upset certain readers if you know what I mean. (For instance women readers and kids)
Anyway have a great X-Mas and a less violent New Year, enjoy!!

If the extreme right is so "pro-life," as they like to identify themselves, why do they respond to mass murder with more guns? Guns are "pro-death." I guess it's like conservative logic - reversed reasoning (or the lack thereof)!
