I just saw Mitch on MSNBC and he said "Obama and the Democrats are seeking a tax increase on the 2% because they want to destroy wealth in this country. It's their way of re-distribution." What a joke Mitch. This will generate $1.6 trillion (or thereabouts) in revenue and the President has offset that with proposed cuts ALREADY. Do you think that without this $1.6 trillion, the top 2% will cease to be wealthy? Get real. They were already paying this tax rate under Clinton and they didn't lose their status then. Maybe they got "used to" paying minimally over the last 12 years, but it's time for our country to stop this sham and treat all fairly.

Thank you! I have been saying this for a couple of years. If the Richest 2% pay their fair share of taxes. Our Government could pay down the National Debt. The rich will have an incentive to create more jobs here in America putting Americans back to work and reduce the need for Entitlement programs such as Welfare Medicare Medicaid and so forth. We work, our communities thrive, city, county, & state Governments get more in taxes. Enabling them to conduct their business. It's a win win WIN! Somehow D.C. has lost track of this simple solution.

Did you see that picture of Mitch holding that Kentucky rifle? I think he is older than that gun! Talk about pale and stale! Yes, the top 1% owns 37.5% of the nation's wealth. The Republicans have been " siphoning" off money from the economy for some time. Their trick is to get everyone to focus on Welfare, food stamps, and unemployment and while we're looking away, they pick our pocket. Boehner won't even bring tax loopholes up for discussion and they keep putting the Bush era tax cuts back in place. I'm sorry, I don't think I'll ever vote for a Republican again! I'd rather vote for a rabid dog catcher.
