Personally, I think that Willard is missing some parts of what normally goes into the make up of averageperson's mental capacity. This morning's Globe carries a piece entiltled- Romney blames loss on 'gifts' to Obama backers. He says ( he actaully says this ) He claims that Obama had wooed " specific interests with targeted gifts and initiatives. Among the "gifts" he lists are - health care - aid for college student loans and help for the children of immigrants etc. These gifts were mostly given to black Americans and hispanics.....Forget the fact that this man has the big brass ones to actually say something like this....doesn't the question naturally occur- What the hell do you think the fat cats who supported you were hoping to get if you were elected ? At least democrats have traditionally tried to give the majority of folks things that are needed and necessary for a half way decent life. They haven't usually been trying to give more money to a minority of the very rich at the expense of everyone else.....
The paper also carries a piece on House leader Boner who said that Republicans have been percieved as being very "mean ". Gee. I wonder why ?

Yeah, sure I'm still waiting to get any present!! I guess Romblebee hands out little presents all the time to his kids ($100 million tax free Trust Fund; investments in voting machines to play with etc.) and "donations" to his Mormon church which gets "washed" via the casino's owned by this church and get it right back all laundered. However I did not see yet how much he donated in the fund for the disaster in NY.
Anyway I hope Obama will stick to his promise to level the playing field a bit more.

So everyone should be very glad we did not get Romneyed and therefore boosted his ego and billions even more.

Romney and his type are incapable of imagining a world where MONEY is not the main focus. They don't even KNOW there is any other kind of motivation. They definitely do not understand altruism, "doing unto others as you would want them to do unto you." Or being kind to your fellow man, just out of kindness. Or getting satisfaction from making others happy. Romney's world is ONLY GREED.

I read that article also. It's unbelievable how much this guy is in denial! He wouldn't know the truth if it cam out of his own mouth (highly unlikely). I actually have a few pangs of sympathy (not many admittedly) for Bohner. He is stuck between a rock and a hard place and knows it. All he really wants is to play golf and have the Refublican base look up to him. I don't think he really cares one way or the other for politics - it's a cushy job with lots of bennies and that's all he's interested in. We could have worse in his position, however!

Dear Flame, The best motives are those that take compassion on people with needs. But even if that spirit can't be summoned it behooves us to reach out to those with needs because we all have live in the same society..... a society we help to create. And it people don't have access to things like decent health care , housing schools and diet there is a price that the more affluent among us will also to pay. For young people in the inner cities dealing in cocaine and heroin is a major carreer path. Their chance of ever having a job that will help them attain a decent life outside of crime is almost nil. The proportion of young black men in American prisions is outrageous. But the talking heads who inform us of facts like this usually fail to mention that there are tens of thousand of young whiite and hispanic men in the same boat. The more affluent among us pay a price for this by having to live in a society that is spiritually impoverished. where their children are in danger in many areas of their lives and where they are themselves in danger whenever they have to go into the inner cities. Jesus parable of the Good Samaritan offers a good spiritual lesson. But is also good politics. This idea eludes Romney, Paul, Rove, Boner and the Koch brothers. Compassion for others is good- greed is bad - reaching out in brpther and sisterhood to try resoving differences is good - war is bad. Sharing is good - hogging all the good stuff for yourself is bad.....these things that are good are not only spiritually good. They make for good politics. I don't know what the Mormans teach about these things, but it seems to me Romney didn't get much of it on his way up ( or down from my perspective .) Onward.

I think that it is funny that the Republicans tried so hard to rig the elections with last minute voter ID laws and other forms of voter intimidation, but the President still won? I wonder how much larger the margin would have been without the Republican's bag of dirty tricks? I hope I am not being overly optimistic, but I believe this election raised the awareness of many American voters.

You can not do what Mitt has done and have a soul. Impossible. Even those close to him discribe a sociopath.
