Piers Morgan's interview with Romney surrogate, former Governor John Sununu gives us once more a subtle glimpse at the racism that is the quiet hidden underbelly of the Romney campaign. When asked by Pierce to comment on the recent endorsement by Colin Powell of Barack Obama, Sununu rejects the idea that Colin Powell could be supporting Obama because of his record, but instead strongly implies that this Republican, who has served his country in the military and in a Republican President's Cabinet, has made his endorsement of President Obama purely because of race. The message is a not so subtle appeal to a base in the Republican Party that reviles the very thought of an African American President, and lends a willing ear to this and the clown Trump's "birther" poison. Shame on Piers for giving Sununu a pass on this one, and shame on CNN for not challenging this clear venomous theme in the Romney campaign that the candidate allows his surrogates to spew.

Nuance, No! Shame on Morgan for even having this right wing pit bull on his show in the first place. Sununu never opens his mouth but what some coarse inanity comes out. I imagine this is why Morgan had him on in the first place.....hoping that bhe would say something off the wall and garner a little publicity for his show. With Sununu's track record there certainly was almost no chance that we were going to get anything reasonable out of the man.

I've never see anything but Fix News type of garbage come out of Morgan so I'm not surprised. CNN should dump him and send him over to Fix News where he belongs.

Sununu and his whole family are nothing more than a bunch of typical Refublican, Right-Wing, low lifes. He belongs in federal prison with the rest of his kind for the rest of his life. He has never said nor done anything good for this country (and certainly the state of New hampshire when he was Governor) and never shall. He is an embarrassment to the whole country as most of the Refublican Party is today!

Romney will not distant himself from the statements made about race (C Powell), nor about conception after a rape, because he agrees with those out-of-touch crazy white men.

To people in Europe watching the antics of Americans is like watching monkeys frolic at the zoo. We have the most politically infantile citizens of any industrial nation. Hatred of Obama is hardly hidden. It is right out in the open. Polls show that a good majority of white men support Romney. Most of these men are now or will be in the future dependent on Social Security and Medicare to name just two items in the social "safety net " that The Two Disasters want to eliminate. They know this because the Disasters have actually told them this is their intention. Nevertheless, these men are willing to cut their own throats in order to get a man of color out of the White House. This is stupidity of a high order. My mother in law who is 90 makes no bones about it. She hates Obama intensely. Her husband has many medical problems which are alleviated to some degree by Medicare. They live on Social Security. The fact that these programs will be in danger if the Disasters are elected doesn't matter to her. She thinks that national fruitcake, Glen Beck is the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. 90 years old. It's more than sad........ The polls show the race is close with some showing that Obama is slightly ahead. If the Disasters were not against abortion I think there is no doubt they would win this election.....This is just my opinion but I think the strategy of the Romney crowd right from the beginning was this......Enough people hate Obama that it doesn't matter what the candidate says or how many times he contradicts himself...... the haters will vote for him. Romney is not overly intelligent , but he is not nuts. He knows the media is picking him apart becuse of his numerous flip flops on the issues. But he has made the calculation that this doesn't matter with the ding a lings who support him. In a sane country he would have a natural constituency of maybe 15 to 18 % of the electorate. Instead , he is right up there in the polls....thanks to the irrational racism that exists in this country.

We may not like this right wing racist, but it was good to have him on. It shows the general public what these right wings are all about. The sad thing is that even now in 2012 there is so much hatred here in America. What scares me is that these views of the ones that are supposed to fighting for the people and making lots of money doing it, are spreading even more hatred. The freedoms that many people lost lives for, are just going to be lost, and that is a shame.
