Ron Johnson was asked if companies should be able to deny health coverage to cancer patients and this was his reply

They shouldn’t. Listen, our rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And when we start expanding beyond that realm, when you create a right for somebody, you create an obligation for somebody else, and then you’re taking away that person’s right. And that maybe doesn’t seem all that great, but it’s just true. Our nation was based on the foundation of freedom and limited government.

So while he did say earlier that companies should cover their employees he said they should also be able to deny coverage as well. Johnson hates the pre-existing condition measure in the Affordable Care Act. It's ridiculous that they are appealing to freedom to try and raise opposition to healthcare.
