As for why people vote republican there are many reasons:

    god, guns, gays

wanting lower taxes without considering the consequences for society as a whole

belief that muscular foreign policy as well as limitation of rights will make them "safe" against the "other"

    just to mention a few.

Yes; not just "god", guns and gays. Don't forget to get rid of: Mohammed, ISIS, Mexicans, non-believers, Palestinians, Russians and a few others. Thus "god"(not Allah he's someone else) and of course a dead Jesus, only "white" people with lots of guns are allowed, no sex changed Kardashians, no cripples or handicapped people; and of course a huge military to "keep us safe" ( from ourselves!)

Lonely Bird - Why do you keep woofling on about God? The question is who benefited from inventing Jesus. How could the people you name conceivably benefit from such an invention? It makes no sense. Their interpretation of an existing figure is quite another question.

Because Democrat polices suck! They want to control everything, tell you how to live your life when there lives are out of control. I'm sick of liberal Democrats, we had to deal with Obama and his failed policies, now grow up and deal with Trump.

I also vote almost always non-Democrat.

I like my 2nd Amendment. I am pro-life. I don't like the Fed Govt intrusion into everything in our lives. I am in favor of capitalism, personal responsibility, securing our borders and making the US safer from ISIS and terror attacks that can come by way of gangs, drug cartels etc as well. I'm American.

In response to what the OP said .....in 8 year, Obama's administration gave us 10 trillion in national debt, a massive failure in Common Core, 15 different ISIS terror attacks on US soil, millions of additional illegal people living here, multiple scandals, Obamacare that has seen people insurance premiums and deductibles sky rocket with coverage cut in half thanks to that trillion dollar taxpayer fed program, lowest % of working people in 60 years at 62% I believe and a very weak military.

I was a Ben Carson supporter, swung to Trump and was happy with the election.

Trump isn't a Republican, he's not a Democrat, but he's doing what he promised the 61 million people who voted him and millions of others than support him.

When lots of good paying jobs happen will be when Trump can be evaluated.

we can evaluate him on more than that and I intend to ......... is he allowing scandals like Fast and Furious, the IRS targeted certain businesses, the email server scandals, the SS Sex scandals etc. Is Trump working foreign relations well. Is Trump handling the economy and the environment. Things like that - of course everything that happens under his watch is his to own, just like Obama and GW and the ones before them - he's the head coach, don't blame previous coaches, don't blame the team you have to work with - just win
