The Robber Baron Stooge Party has been denying the existance of climate change for decades. Do you think if their convention in Tampa got slammed by a Hurricane they would change their minds???!!!

No, hurricanes are nothing new and are not really evidence of global warming in itself. So even if they came to that conclusion, the evidence that convinced them wouldn't even be evidence of the issue.

Reference: Time, Science and Space: Global Warming: An Exclusive Look at James Hansen’s Scary New Math, May 10, 2012

I agree with Zach and most climatologists.  No single weather event or weather year would normally be cited by climatologists as indicative of Climate Change. So when one of the gurus of Climate Change, James Hansen, cited "extremely high temperatures" as support for global warming, it raised eye brows in the climatology community.  From the Time article:

"Even with a multitude of extreme weather events in recent years — tornadoes in New York City, blizzards in Washington, D.C., 15,000 warm-temperature records shattered across the U.S. in March — each consistent with computer models of a warming world, Emanuel and many other noted scientists have been unwilling to attribute any one event to global warming. There’s just too much variability in the weather, these experts say, and their dedication to data has helped prop open the door for “denialists” to sow doubt about the reality of our warming world."

"But Hansen’s shot across the bow this morning indicates that the unwillingness to point fingers may be changing. According to a peer-reviewed paper Hansen has submitted to a leading scientific journal and made available to Time.com prior to publication, scientists can now state “with a high degree of confidence” that some extremely high temperatures are in fact caused by global warming, simply because they occur much more frequently than they used to."

Read the rest of the article at the above link.  Note that he published it in May, well before our record breaking extremely hot summer.

I also note that Hansen is now stating that his previous predictions about the rate of climate change were too optimistic and that the situation is much worse than even he imagined. Perhaps that's why he is sounding the alarm and deviating from past practice.  He needs to get the attention of the global community about the severity of the problem, but right now, particularly amongst Republicans, there is still outright denial.  The Koch brothers still write the narrative for Republicans on that issue...money talks.

Schmidt - I don't know if you caught up with Romney saying in his acceptance speech, quote "and President Obama want to heal the Earth, he should first heal the pocket of the American people. If I am President, don't worry, I will take care of you.  I will take care of the American family first than what  President Obama said he would heal the Earth.  This is not a sound statement coming from a President."  Unquote, Oh my goodness!  then I would presume Mitt Romney is not aware scientifically what is truly going on with the Earth.  He does not have the scientific passion of trying to understand about Climate Change, the Earth receding towards the Ocean slowly but surely, the Melting of the Ice in Antartica displacing the habitat of the White Polar Bear, and all the other Scientific Factors that we human should be attending to, to preserve the Earth of signs leading to its complete eradication.
At the Ed Show, one Scientist who was a guest at the show...(.I have his name some place, I wrote it down) told Ed to ask Mitt Romney what he has against Science? and Why? And according to him, this is very important for Mitt Romney to pay attention to.  He heard that Mitt Romney is Number One in opposing to deal with Climate Change (Global Warming) ,,,and other Scientifically proven factors that would damage the Earth and yet, he continues to oppose anything that deals with this scientific findings.
Well Schmidt.....I guess, Mitt Romney is not concern for the future generation...he won't be here (he'd be 6 feet under the ground then) to witness the outcome.  He continues to mock President Obama on this regard, and he continues to tell me though I don't know him personally, that HE DON'T GIVE A DAMN.

Sorry but there are no Polar Bears in the Antartic..many live in Northern Canada and they are doing very well thank you...but they thank you for your concern

They aren't really. Decreasing pack ice makes hunting a real chore.

You are correct WovenGems, the bears are not fairing well with the obvious affects of global warming warming up the polar bears once perfect environment.

As far as climate change, that is a nice word for when the earth takes a couple hundred years to change a degree or two, but when it happens in less than a couple of decades, this not is not climate change, it is global warming caused by oil.  Oh yes, I thank the Republicans for global warming, when Reagan killed solar thirty years ago.  If it wasn't for Reagan and the Republican party, global warming would still be an unknown word by the majority, like it was when Reagan decided oil money had more power than solar or a clean earth for the majority.

Of course ALL Republicans deny global warming, because the Republican party is the very cause of global warming.

Romney and the Republican party do give a damn about one thing, more oil money in their pockets.  Oil money backs people like Walker in WI.  Walker even stopped a rail transit in WI, giving back the federal dollars to build the rail.  Why?  Trains take away from oil sales for cars, that is why.

Yes the Republicans will deny Global Warming until they are six feet under, they can't take their oil money with them, so they try to take the earth instead.  Wish I could of been a fly on a cloud when Reagan had to answer to God, you can bet, if there is a hell Reagan is there, just like Romney will be one day along with all the other Republicans that steal the majorities future earth and our lives with air and water pollution and war.  Reagan and the Republicans are responsible for millions of deaths caused by air and water pollution and the money wars, you don't get to heaven by being a killer,  I can't think of any Republican President that could have possibly made it to heaven, can you?  We know for a fact Reagan and the Bush freaks won't ever make it to a good place after earth.  I am willing to bet, not a single Republican believes in God. Why? They know if God is real, they are going to hell.

    When Jimmy Carter left office,
America’s fleet average mile per gallon was 28 to the gallon.  The Volkswagen Rabbit was getting 60 miles to the gallon with a no computer electronics.

    When Reagan took over,
his first order of business was to remove the solar panels from the White House that Jimmy Carter installed.  His second order of business was to take back the energy credits given to solar by Jimmy Carter, and gave the credits back to oil.   Reagan put 90 percent of the solar companies that Jimmy Carter started out of business, why?   For huge oil sales and fuel tax that is why.  If you would like the facts and proof to this, kindly read my post titled “Prodigal Sun,” for sure you need to see the real truth as to why we still have no solar leader since Jimmy Carter tell recently.  Had it not been for Reagan and his oil policies, we would not know the words global warming today.

    When Bush Sr. took over,
I knew solar and electric cars were far out of view in the American eye, and they were.  Instead of solar and electric cars, Bush insured lots of oil from the East, instead of more oil from our number 1 and number 2 suppliers of oil, why?  I guess you would have to know who our number 1and 2 suppliers are to understand, so I will tell you in case you don’t know.  Canada is 1, supplying twice as much oil as our number 2 supplier, which is Mexico.  Recently, Mexico is switching back and forth from third and second place.  The difference between Canada, Mexico and Eastern oil is obvious, American oil lords don’t make their profits from Canada or Mexico’s oil, but they make billions from Eastern oil every year, how or why?    I will explain both for you.  Oil from Mexico or Canada is not drilled by any American lords nor does their oil require a billion dollar super tanker to get here, tankers that have spilled on our coast, tankers that are owned by American oil lords.  These lords are of course friends with Bush, in fact, Bush is one of them.

Eastern oil on the other hand is drilled by and profited by the American oil lords and the Bush.  The last thing Bush was going to allow was his buddies billion dollar tankers sit empty and their oil wells not pumping in the East, instead Bush insured these tankers and wells working overtime with bad mileage and no solar or electric cars.  By this time, our cars could be getting twice the mileage as the Jimmy Carter days; instead, our average miles per gallon for the American fleet was slipping below twenty to the gallon.  Not only was Bush making money from Eastern oil, he increased the fuel tax right under the nose of the American majority, with bad mileage and no free from oil and fuel tax electric cars.  Solar was buried and the fuel tax increased, thanks to Bush.

    When Clinton took over,
he did nothing to impress me.  In fact, I consider him a Republican more than a Democrat when it comes to oil and health care.  I have no use for his wife as well.

    When Bush Jr. took over,
Well, do I really need to go into details about his disgrace?  I didn’t think so, nor do I feel like writing another whole page.

    When President Obama took over,
He gave the states back their rights to set their own emission standards, something that was taken away by Bush in 1991, when California was about to pass a zero emission standard for any cars being sold in California.  One step away, then the oil lover stepped in, crazy right?  GM had a plug in electric car ready to meet California’s new standards in 1991, but was scrapped when the oil loving Bush took the state’s rights away.  It’s crazy how everyone claims the Dems want to take gun rights, yet to date, it’s just the Republicans taking from the rights of the states and the Democrats giving them back.

President Obama is the first president to install solar on the White House since Jimmy Carter.  He has also given energy credits back to solar and other non-19th century energy technologies.  Yes the Bush wants us to drill baby drill, to fill his own pockets, while the Bush house in Texas runs off solar, for over a decade.  Are you still wondering where your solar panels are, I didn’t think so.  Hope this answers your questions about oil policies.

You can't change oil policies OR US carbon emissions, unless the US ends the drug war and its carbon footprint, which would swing HEMP, from Schedule I CS contraband, to biomass resource media, for 25,000 market leading products.  Jimmy Carter remarked, at the long gas lines, "Maybe it's time we re-legalized marijuana."

But Republicrats undermined Carter, and instead of getting a leader, by shoving 'roids into Jimmy, like they should have done, they started blowing off Jimmy, but they REALLY started blowing off Ralph Nader, when Jimmy should have made Ralph A/G of the US or WH Counsel or something, if Ralph would have any of that.  Pot is illegal, like all drugs, to avoid any resourcing, including tax base because Republicrats made them illegal, for special interest group marketeering and profiteering.

So the Republicrats didn't force anything, on Nixon or Reagan.  When the Hemp Stamp Tax Act of 1938 was ruled unconstitutional, 1972, two years after peak US oil, Nixon founded the DEA.  Reagan named the drug war, and Republicrats couldn't get back into the White House, even though they out-number pubs, by a good bit.  Republicrats are LOSERS, who won't admit what is really happening, with the drug war, with Zionism, or with global warming.

Hey, they are just trying to get WWIII going, eh?  They don't intend to get CO2-neutral, for anybody.  When the US gets CO2-neutral, it'll be due to DARPA getting algae systems in containers, with refineries, all the way up to forward bases.

If you want a candidate, who used to be a DEMOCRAT, that'd be ROCKY ANDERSON, endorsed by guess who, Ralph Nader, running on the Justice Party ticket.  The Obamney Twins don't want your vote.  It's already settled, how the Republicans will own Congress.  The loser Republicrats deliberately fed Congress, to the Tea Party, while the Republicrats were busy, eating any pooch, defiled by the Republicans.
