Scalia and Alito have both come out in favor of sentencing juveniles to lite without parole (LWOP). Many young people will mature and grow out of the impulsive, violent behavior that land them in trouble. Studies produced by the lawyers in Miller v. Alabama show that no one— not judge, not jury, not psychologist—can predict which child offenders will remain dangerous as adults. To pronounce teenagers 'hopeless cases' is terrible criminal-justice policy.

But Scalia and Alito disagree, not based on on any kind of evidence or study, just because. They would rather lock them up for their entire lives. There are crimes which are particularly heinous but studies show that many troubled teens grow out of that phase of their lives when given opportunity. Luckily, Scalia and Alito where in the dissenting opinion.

In our whole system the Supreme court is the worst branch of government by far. These 5 savages make decisions everyday that have instant impact on our lives. I was just watching Dinasaur 13 on Cnn....what a joke. That's our judicial branch. They make unchecked biased rulngs everyday and we sit and do nothing. Cretans. I won't even get into my case with the feds. You have to shake your head at many of these rulings. One of them is going to have to get brain tumor or some terminal ilnes so Obam can hopefull swing the pendulum
