Fox News cuts away from Obama speech...again

I watched President Obama's speech at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials today on MSNBC.  Yesterday I watched Mitt Romney speech at the same conference.

President Obama again was at his best, and I did a quick check to see if Fox News was covering the speech.  They were, and I felt gratified that Fox News viewers would finally get to see President Obama at his best. When Obama got into some really good stuff, I checked with Fox New again and they had cut away.  I don't know when they cut away.  I do know that it was a missed opportunity for Fox News viewers to see a candid, sincere President address the needs of the Latino community.

I can only surmise, as I have said before, that President Obama comes across as too presidential...knowledgeable and caring...and that is not the message that Fox News has been promoting with their viewers.  So they simply cut away. Showing Obama in a positive light just doesn't fit their business model.

Okay I've beat this topic to death in other posts, but I just wanted to remind folks that the next time President Obama makes a major speech, pay attention how Fox News covers it...or not.

Of course they aren't going to show President Obama being Presidential, they are after all just another branch of the Republican Party.
I remember Joe McCarthy and how things were in that era, but I do not believe there was ever so much disrespect for the President, nor do I believe that the Republican Party was ever so willing to sacrifice this nation for the sole reason of destroying one man who happens to be President.
I do believe, however, that they would be doing this regardless of who the President is if that President happened to be a Democrat.  His race does have some impact with many on the right but I think they would be doing the same thing with any Democrat. If you think back to when Clinton was elected, Limbaugh said that he was in office now but that they were going to get him.
What really amazes me though is the number of people that fall for the propaganda coming from the Right.

Charlie -- You are right about that.  Both Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were attacked by the right, but especially Bill Clinton.  Still I think that President Obama's race adds an extra dimension to the vitriol. These are people that wallow in hate and are void of any critical thinking skills.

I agree that his race adds another level of animosity to the mix. We should also realize that all three of those Democrats were extremely intelligent and of the three Republican Presidents we have had in between only George H. W. Bush could be considered as having average intelligence.
I have my problems with President Obama, because like most Liberals I was hoping for a Liberal President in Obama. But much like Clinton and even Carter he is quite a ways right compared to other Liberal or what we consider Liberals today. But we never know until they are in office how far left or right they are going to be. If we look at Earl Warren, a lifelong Republican and even a Republican Governor of California, but when Eisenhower made him Chief Justice of the Supreme Court he turned out to be quite liberal.
And let's not forget Teddy Roosevelt, who considered himself a Rich, Conservative Republican, but had many social liberal ideas, and was in really deep dodo when his first dinner guest as President was Booker T. Washington. The nation then, with the corporations running everything and liberals were considered Communists, was pretty much like today and TR made it a crusade to break up the monopolies.
