What if I told you, that in one thought, someone dismissed the idea that there is a war on women in this country and suggested that we should throw acid on female democratic Senators? Well, it happened. Polictical candidate and GOP spokesperson hopped Facebook and posted:
"My question today... when is Tommy boy going to weigh in on all the Lilly Ledbetter hypocrites who claim to be fighting the War on Women? Let’s hurl some acid at those female democratic Senators who won’t abide the mandates they want to impose on the private sector."
Deny with validation.
Now I personally hate the term "war on..." It is a propaganda term and thrown around way too liberally. It's an extreme hyperbole that uses emotional connotations to convince you rather than logic. Sadly, the term is short, convenient and catchy, so no amount of complaining from me will stop the term from being used.
That said, there is a movement that is promoting less than equal rights for women. So what does Jay Townsend do? Dismisses the idea with a sarcastic remark followed up by a suggestion to attack female senators with an acid shower... If acid attacks begin, that would would be a pretty strong validation for using the "war on...." term.
