Snyder, governor of Michigan recently signed a bill in Michigan that prohibited teachers from having union dues automatically deducted from their paychecks. Snyder says this bill is for “ensuring that public resources are used solely for their intended purposes," in this case, paying teachers, but the bill does not apply to other public servants like firefighters, police officers,  or state workers, these people can still take advantage of the automatic deductions for their unions.

Some people say that Snyder and other Republicans have specifically targeted teachers to make it harder to maintain their union. Additionally, according to this blog that teacher organizations have been speaking out against Republican policies. So does this look like an attack against teacher unions or was this a necessary law to safeguard tax payer money?
