Just read this article by Andrew Sullivan called How Obama's Long Game Will Outsmart His Critics
Side note: I have to be honest, I haven't been all that impressed with Obama's first term. I feel that he has let me down. I expected no new wars; now we have Libya and Afghanistan. I expected no new laws encroaching my liberty; the newest indefinite detention laws killed that for me. Otherwise, I'm not sure what I expected. But, I have vaguely felt for the past 3 years that Obama has been somewhat of a failure.
Then, I read this article. Gotta say, I feel a lot better about Obama now. Putting these last few years in perspective is necessary sense it is VERY easy to get caught up in the "spin zone" of both the left and right. I believe, has Sullivan says, Obama is in it for the "long game". He is playing chess while others insist on checkers. For our country's sake, if Ron Paul is not an option, I feel MUCH more comfortable saying that we need Obama for a second term.
Check out the article. Its good stuff. Also, let me know your thoughts on Obama. Anyone feel the way I do??
