Seems like Chuck Schumer just saved New York $400 million due to an EPA regulation technicality. Basically, the EPA wanted the city to cover its 5 open air drinking reservoirs. The cost would have been $400 million for the city. However, it would have also halted a $1.6 billion plan to put a concrete cap atop Yonker's Hillview Reservoir, Schumer pointed out. So, Schumer used it to his advantage and got the EPA to change their minds. Smart. Seems possibly environmentally irresponsible though, but smart. Agree with this?
