Cenk has become a popular personality on MSNBC. Everyone knows about Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz. Will Cenk reach the same level as the other liberal evening shows?

Well I like Cenk, but sometimes I feel he is overly critical of Obama...unfairly.  I've been watching Reverand Al Sharpton in his spot lately and like the way he takes on the Republicans and their hypocrisy. When he has them on his program, he won't let them dance around a question. If Cenk goes, I would be pleased with Sharpton in his place.

I really like Cenk and I think that the best person to criticize Obama is a liberal or progressive, and at times Obama has disappointed me and backed off  some of his promises.  What I want to know is where Cenk went,??  I have been watching Sharpton and he doesn't have the same apeal or knowledge as Cenk.

I like Cenk, too, but I don't feel he is in the same category as Rachel, Lawrence and Chris or Ed.  He is a little thin skinned, too.

Where has Cenk  gone?  I'm not too fond of like Al Sharpton.  He is too loud although he is very liberal.

Here's a July 16th link from mediabistro that says he'll be back on Monday...that would be July 18th. However, that date has come and gone and still no Cenk. Cenk's future at MSNBC is not certain...

Read the variety article and can't imagine Sharpton getting better ratings than Cenk, guess it's because Sharpton won't criticize the Pres. on anything, kinda like a reverse Fox.  Guess I won't be watching anymore.  The best two shows MSNBC has (had) are  Dylan Ratigan and Cenk's show.

Ratings don't mean too much until a person has become more established in the time slot. I was a fan of Cenk, and philosophically  I agreed with him on almost all the big issues...health care, wars, taxes, spending, etc. Where I deviated from him at times is his criticism of Obama.  I will not defend Obama's decisions on several of the issues of the day, but I do expect a bit of fairness, and sometimes with Cenk I couldn't differtiate the TONE of his criticism of Obama from that of a Bill O'Reilly or a Sean Hannity.  And as Cenk invoked the "Obama Promised" justification for much of his criticism, he tended to ignore the many Republican obstructionist policies that prevented Obama from fully accomplishing his stated goals...like ignoring the record number of Republican Senate filibusters.

Nevertheless, Obama in his first two years, had a highly successful record of accomplishments that is not often headlined by the media, except by people like Rachel Maddow. Cenk was less gracious.

We need people like Cenk and Ed Schultz to speak out bluntly, but there is a fine line between constructive criticism and rage. I appreciate and support both, but I wouldn't want either of them as my President.  The difference is that a TV pundit speaks only to his niche audience, often telling them what they want to hear.  The President is President of ALL Americans and must be a pragmatist, seeking compromises, no matter how unpopular with his/her base.

Without compromises in our elected officials, we would be relegated to the impasse of the Dr. Seuss North Going Zax and South Going Zax...never moving from their stated paths...and making NO progress on any issues.
