Reference: AlterNet, January 14, 2011: Pawlenty wants to reinstate DADT

We haven't heard much about Tim Pawlenty in the news lately, so I suppose to establish his credentials as a bona fide Republican candidate for President in 2012 and make some headlines, he appeared on the American Family Association’s radio program with Bryan Fischer. Fischer is of course infamous for his ugly statements about not only the Muslim community but LGBTs stating the "gays are biased, sexually deviant felons, not to mention pedophiles,"and should be "disqualified from public office.”

    Quoting Pawlety:

"Bryan, I have been a public and repeat supporter of maintaining Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. There’s a lot of reasons for that, but if you look at how the combat commanders and the combat units feel about it, the results of those kinds of surveys were different than the ones that were mostly reported in the newspaper and that is something I think we need to pay attention to. But I have been a public supporter of maintaining Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and I would support reinstating it as well."

It would appear to me that Presidential candidates like Pawlenty are going out of their way to pander to the Christian evangelical community.  The American Family Association has been called an anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, mostly because of comments made by Fischer. But that didn't deter Pawlenty from appearing on the program...in fact it was probably because of those credentials that he appeared.

For Pawlety's stand on other issues, the Minnesota Independent has compiled a list.

How did having homosexuals effect the SPARTANS?  What the military should instute is H G A H( WHO GIVES A HECK).  There were plenty of gay soldiers who served in WW2 they just did not tell anybody.  That is just another non-issue that distracts voters

No kidding.  They had  to look for problems implementing it  in the service and found zilch Fox news  was so disappointed.  My state has allowed same sex marriage  and the repubs are getting worried because no one cares either way anymore since it really affects them in no way.  They are working to get marriage between a man and a woman on the ballot as soon as possible or fear it will be voted down.

What bothers me about Pawlenty is his daughter who is severely  handicapped and how  he pats himself on the back.  Sure buddy go ahead and do away with medicaid and everything else to help care for kids like this.  You are rich and can pay for what that child needs and the help you need to get a break from 24/7 care of such a child and the medical expenses.  They don't have a clue.  He is just a big hypocrite.  Does anyone else remember what happened when you googled his name and the definition that came up.

It didn't affect the Spartans, the Romans, or anyone else for that matter. It's just that republicans have nothing else to go on. They are totally devoid of ideas and policies that affect people in a positive way. Republicans just love to make people miserable...they just can't leave people alone. I always ask conservatives this. "name on piece of legislation or law passed by republicans in the last 40+years  that has done anything positive for the everyday average American" You'll never get an answer.
