As I understand she is not really thrilled about gay marriage as she feels it will deviate from the gay traditions we have created in lieu of such legalities coming into existence. As far as I can translate, I would say that would mean considering her new popularity along with an existing reputation, (and this is just a guess), that she may consider a bit less commitment in her life at the current time.

If anyone else has a some what more reasonable answer, I'm sure it would be welcome here.

On Morning Joe this morning (3/16) they played the latest commercial from Paul Ryan-he implied he was standing in the hallways of congress-after the commercial a commentator said he may be in trouble for doing this commercial if, in fact, it was in the halls of congress since this is against the law (?)-question is-is he allowed to do political commercials IN the halls of congress? if allowed-it's fine-but-if not what are the consequences-and-if the commercial was not from the halls of congress-why is he implying that's where he was????????????

I don't know where Maddow stands on the marriage issue but I have close friends who are lesbians and they tell me they are against gay marriage. They tell me that traditional marriage should remain between a man and a woman, that gays should be able to have civil unions so that they have the right to visit and make decisions for their partners if in the hospital and be identified as a legal union. They also tell me that they feel that Obama has used this issue as a political ploy and resent the fact that he is using the gay community as his political subjects. They do not plan on voting for him because they are sick of his dangerous games.

    Natural
Recently a right wing republican stated that:
“Marriage is natural for a man and a woman because it is natural.” I think he was saying “some of us are not natural or “less natural."

Lets talk about the natural aspect and the rights therein:
    Are men and women natural?
    What makes them natural?
The genetic code they were born with?
Their genetic make-up that pre-determines them a man or a woman?
The genetic make up that makes some of them smart and some less smart; Some of them tall and some short; And everything else that is governed by genetics?
The genetic make up is definitely what makes you natural
Within being a man or a woman there is a genetic plan for that mind and body
Genetic make up is in everything on the planet
It must be natural to be attracted to someone if your genetic make up deems it so.

San Francisco, Natural, I don't know what that means. But I will tell you this. Many Americans would like to keep marriage as a union between a man and a woman. I'm all for civil unions because I believe gay couples should have legal rights. genetic makeup: It hasn't been proven that being gay is a result of genetic makeup. I don't understand why some people are gay and some people are straight. I have friends who are gay and we discuss this. I love them but they know I don't agree with their lifestyle and its ok with them. Its not their lifestyle  its them that I love. I wrote earlier about how a lesbian couple I know are against gay marriage. They respect the rights of the traditional marriage and want to keep it that way. Of course I realize many gay couples feel the opposite. But no matter how I feel about being gay what really makes me mad is how the president is using the gay community as political pawns. He only came out in favor of gay marriage to try to win the votes of the gay community. What he did was so wrong and its demoralizing because you see, I don't care if you are gay, or atheist or whatever the you all deserve respect and If I were gay I would be outraged. The presidents actions really hit home with me because I have close friends who are gay. And some of them get what he has done and some of them don't. What he did is wrong!

What I think was being referred to is the simple biological fact that a man and woman come together sexually, a sperm and egg meet, fertilize, implant, and nine months later - baddabing - there's a baby! Can't argue that.

That may the case now but at the rate tech is advancing we may get to point in the song "In the Year 2525" before the song thought. "You pick your sons and daughters too, from the bottom of a long glass tube."

I've never quite understood the great value of marriage.  The happiest couples I know, both straight and gay, are not married.

For those who hang onto the old refrain, "homosexuality is unnatural", may I suggest, "Biological Exuberance" by Bruce Bagemihl.
Mr. B takes a long overdue look at homosexuality throughout the animal kingdom (and yes, despite religious protestations, we ARE member of the animal kingdom).  He finds (as I have said for years) that homosexuality is natural population control, - it's part of nature!  When a species becomes over-populated, the percentage of homosexuals increases.  Aren't we missing obvious here?

We have options here.  We can reduce our population with war, genocide, infectious disease and starvation (our current methods) or we can respect nature's non-violent method: an increase in homosexuality.

Hate to pee on your parade, but... Even gay couples want kids. Welcome to "The Biological Imperative".

Steve Daimler is looking for help to get involved with a club to meet people with my same interest. We all need to act with honor, we can't hold on anymore. I just want help make this country better and I can't take anymore. I want marriage equality for all. I don't want it for myself. I am old. I want it for my niece and nephews. They deserve to live in a world of equality. Rachel is there a site you can direct me to. I am in FL. I just want to tell my story. I tried on Raw Story. I hope you can help.
