Everyone knows how gluttonous the US economy is. And surely everyone knows the US methods in meeting the goal objectives. There were too many sorrowful examples. So it’s not a surprise that the US wants to extend its tiny sphere of influence in the Arctic area, which is, as you might know, gives access to a huge amount of resource to be extracted in the Arctic Region. And of course the US wants to take its share, so the US started some kind of its motivated work against Greenland on its exclusion from the Danish jurisdiction. Maybe it sounds nonsensical. But even those rumors are just rumors – the fact of their appearance must strike a warning note. We should remember that the US has a variety of methods of bringing to power their own protйgйs and has a wide experience in such kind of arrangements… Well, the population in Greenland is not very big (about 56.500 people), so there will be no big opposition (if any) and I doubt that Denmark will protect us and be an opposition to the US. So I’m a bit on the edge…

With Trump, every day brings a new distraction. The latest one is that he has expressed an interest in is buying Greenland. The Danish government, which supports Greenland financially, have said that they are not interested.

"If he is truly contemplating this, then this is the final proof that he has gone mad," Soren Espersen, foreign affairs spokesman for the right-wing Danish People's Party told broadcaster DR.

This is not the first time Trump has expressed interest in foreign properties. He has previously said that North Korea's "great beaches" would make ideal locations for condos.

The capital of North Korea is located at 40 degrees north latitude, which means that "sunny beaches" in North Korea is an oxymoron.

I guess he is bored to death, because he does not read, does not write, does not learn the "job", does not know anything of anything, does not know how to manage money and only knows how to "loose" it. May be he should ask Denmark if he could retire there; good riddance. The polar bears and wolves will love to bite his fat ass. The more I see and hear of this guy, the more I shake my head, that the people here are so terrible ignorant and naive to appoint such an piece of shit to the W.H.Yes that is what you get if you don't educate an huge portion of this country who still think that he's an great "business" man sent by "god". It is time people here first investigate the full background of any candidate before electing him/her. But yeah, they will never learn here from their mistakes. The following President will face exactly the same shit, because no one is revamping the laws here to make sure an President is not above the law and can do whatever any "dictator" wants to do.

According to satirist Andy Borowitz, Denmark has just offered the buy the United States.

A key provision of the purchase offer, the spokesperson said, would be the relocation of Donald Trump to another country “to be determined,” with Russia and North Korea cited as possible destinations.

All the people of Greenland need to do is look at how Trump has treated the American citizens of Puerto Rico, and they will say "hell no", if they are indeed given a choice. To trade Danish socialism for Trump's brand of capitalism on health care, education, etc. would be insane. Their quality of life would go down under Trump.

Also the Danish have not polluted this island yet; Trump would immediately do that by drilling etc. As well no stupid GOP free hunting on polar bears etc. It is peaceful now; leave it that way please.

Anyway no one wants to "buy" this country with its trillions in "debt" and uneducated majority of people with lots of guns and no decent infrastructure, let alone sound "laws" and healthcare system. You may as well buy Venezuela.

Trump's animosity towards Denmark actually started before his foolish whim to buy Greenland.

Since Trump "always picks the best people" you'll be interested in the credentials of his ambassador to Denmark, whose name is Carla Sands, who happens to be the wealthy widow of a much older real estate developer, who left her his company. She happens to be a former actress, whose big role was in a dozer titled "Deathstalker". Her REAL qualification for the job was that she held a fundraiser for Trump where attendees paid over $400,000 each.

She also does not believe in global warming, even though ice in Iceland is melting at a frightening rate.

The next G7 meeting should be a hoot. (It is being held in France next week). Russia will not be attending, and England PROBABLY will - unless Boris Johnson changes his mind.

A talented photoshop guy posted this on Twitter, and it went viral. It even got noticed by Trump, who claims (on Twitter) that he would "never do that ".

    What's turnabout is fair play.

Iceland's Prime Minister, Katrin Jakobsdottir just announced that she is NOT meeting with Mike Pence on September 4 during his planned visit. She claims that she had a "prior commitment"that prevented her from attending. She underscored that the arrangement was “absolutely not” about snubbing the Trump administration and that she had earlier this year met with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The decision was made before President Donald Trump announced that he would cancel a visit to another Nordic nation, Denmark.

    On the other hand ..

“This is unprecedented for an Icelandic prime minister,” historian Thor Whitehead told The Associated Press. “I doubt any other Western leader would decide to address a friendly conference abroad instead of welcoming a major foreign ally.”

Since Pence has said that he won't meet alone with a woman without his wife present, that means that "mother" won't need to take a leave of absence from her teaching job.

More countries need to snub Trump, Pence and other crazies in the Trump administration. Trump's treatment of Denmark should serve notice to what Trump's agenda is all about...propping up Trump. Nothing is done unless it benefits Trump somehow. I hope Obama gets a warm welcome in Denmark next month.

Pence should be happy he's not going; at least then he does not miss "church" here; neither his wife to Iceland, because she likely has to indoctrinate the kids about how to fly to an other planet without any power source. I don't think she teaches what in the Constitution, let alone what is stated about separation of church and State. They just have to buy some "Danish" here. Too bad, but yeah at least we save half a million taxpayer money for these planned trips for nothing.

Forbes just reported that Greenland's ice cap is melting 50 years EARLIER than was originally projected.

Last week, the world received yet another stark reminder of what's yet to come as temperatures at the highest point of the Greenland ice sheet rose above freezing and melted the snow there for the first time since July 2012 and perhaps only the third time in the last 700 years. The glacier-covered island lost 12.5 billion tons of ice in one day.

Trump, and the late David Koch, still believe that global arming is a hoax created by the Chinese.

Yes. Melania will be able to walk the beach there in an bikini shortly. Maybe the "smoke" from the Amazon fires takes a while to get into Greenland, now renamed "Trump resorts". Amen

Believe it or not, Trump's offer to buy Greenland is not the first time that America has offered to buy Greenland. The first time was in 1860, and the 2nd was in 1946. The 1946 offer was a cool $100,000,000, which is equivalent to more than $2 billion in today's money.

The problem is that there is NO COMPELLING REASON to buy Greenland.

We already have an airbase in the north, which covers our military needs.

Greenland is said to have plentiful natural resources, but unless you're willing to drill through a mile of ice to get to them, they aren't going anywhere.

The article below explains the 11 reasons that it would be advantageous to buy Greenland - and it also lists 11 reasons why none of them make any sense.

There really is no reason for Denmark to keep supporting Greenland, but the country is doing so largely out of national pride.

Trump's offer is simply an extension of his own ideas of owning things.

It made no sense to purchase the Trump Princess - but he did it any way.

It made no sense to buy Eastern Airlines - but he did it anyway.

It made no sense to buy the Plaza Hotel in New York for an outrageous price - but he did it anyway.

It made no sense to open a third casino in Atlantic City - but he did it anyway.
