One question that has always boggled me, especially because I have only been following politics relatively recently, is how was it that Bush was able to stay in power for so long? I understand that he had a smart cabinet, but even so, his speaking abilities were horrendous and he actually looked stupid. Whenever I go back and I hear speeches of his, he never looks presidential, and I don't think I've heard even one actually well articulated speech of his. A president's duties are more than speech making, that is true, but that is largely how they win hearts and minds. At least, that is how Obama did it. It doesn't matter what your politics are, but how could anyone want to have such an unprofessional sounding-speaking-acting person as the President. Not only that, but he managed to dupe people twice!
What was the secret to his campaigning?
