    It looks like the GOP gets its way. Especially on this Democratic Site, where no one no longer anyone wants this country to be an Democratic run country. I've got the feeling that the GOP "bully's" are winning on all fronts because of the ignorance of most people here, who refuse to do their home work related where the GOP stands for.

    Sorry but the GOP stands for satisfying the "rich" and "powerful" and lots of "weirdo's". Do we really want an Russian "style" society where the "rich" and the "church" determines your life and income?

    Like an Musk who has more money than he can spent in his lifetime and is still not "happy" with it. Or an Trump who as a "kid" never accepted the word "No". Why let spoiled brats without any "world" experience run an country?

    So I'm kind of at a loss why no one writes on this site anymore and get the impression that the people here are ego centric because of the "island" attitude and refuse to see "humans" and the world as being worthless in this huge universe where people drown in their own arrogance. Manipulation and lack of proper education drives this country into an "chaos" due to lack of understanding of the world around us. Humanity is digging their own grave; Russia is an example, that if you have enough "nukes" then you can "murder" as much as you like and destroy humans as ants.

    Our GOP kind of likes such culture and the fall elections will show "how much", so they can buy more multi million dollar "yachts" etc.

    All I can say; Wake up America the enemy is within. If you don't write then the GOP Nazi's win.

    I drink a glass or two of wine every day. I'll often have a beer with my meal, and I usually have a shot of brandy as a nightcap.

    The key, of course, is moderation.

    If you look at the profiles of the other members on this site, you'll notice that Chet Ruminski, Schmidt, wwjd, TJ, and progressive Connie are all listed as "inactive members" because the site had evolved from a discussion group to a monologue.

    A discussion group is useful if it encourages participation by ALL members.

    You've posted more than 14,000 times on this site. Although your personal history is intriguing, you'll find that you'll get more responses if you throttle back a bit.

    Take off a week or two and enjoy the Florida sunshine. You are likely to find a more receptive audience when you return.

    I was a college professor for a year in China. Before that, I taught college level insurance courses in Chicago, and I have been substitute teacher for the last decade. One common thread is that the experience is more rewarding if you encourage participation by the students, and avoid simply lecturing to them.

    Thanks for writing; Sure I enjoy the Florida sunshine; however thanks to "global warming" I get "burned" in the daytime.

    I agree with you about the "lecture"; that's because of the non-replies and often I have the idea that the people here did not learn to "analyze" things in on how the "rest" of the world thinks or even here, they never learned to put a picture together about the "why" and "how"; neither they studied the "history of the "world" let alone realize that "churches" do lie; certainly about "never seen ghosts" which are only created by "humans" themselves more than 2000 years ago. Our "space missions" prove such over and over again that we are "nothing" at all in the "universe". Furthermore our "animal instinct" drives "humanity of the cliff" by wanting "power" over others by every means possible including "money" and "wars" as well plenty of "killing tools". So this is may be an "lecture" but it does determine your "life" on this tiny globe.

    So if you don't want the "craziness" in this US government, then I'm not the type who sits still and accepts all the daily B.S. by the total incompetence here. You are at least "educated" and have international experience; but the "assholes" here in the government barely can "save" Kentucky, because thanks to Mc Connell the infrastructure there "stinks"; they just "built" anywhere without any "study" . If they would do so in the Netherlands, then that whole country would be now part of the North Sea. Sorry to be negative but I wrote about it a million times that the "government structure" here is failing because of the "British" system here, without any "discipline" or "solid" laws. Let alone proper "laws" for any President. Chaos is the name of the game because everyone wants "money" but not an well oiled "machine". The fact is that "control" is missing over 50 States who do as they like; throw inthe "church" then the chaos is complete.

    You may not like my tirade but these are the facts; but I guess the people here don't want to hear those and rather listen to Greene or Jordan or Trump the spoiled "brat without any education. Sorry about that, I see the "cause" and "effect" around me daily. Have a great day; I'll stop writing for a while if you like.

    I actually think that these sites all have a sort of half-life. They eventually shrink until they are simply a site with little to no contribution. Is that arbitrarily bad? Not necessarily. Humans always have things going on that take up time. As humans cannot multi-task despite claims that they can it is unsurprising that events and circumstances occur that require prioritization. Frankly, I do believe that the political economy of the country is not simply broken but is beyond repair. To try and repair would require an almost complete tear down and rebuild. That isn’t going to happen unless and until conditions actually devolve into instability and unsustainability. We are not there yet but we are getting closer.

    The election of a fill-in-the-blank Democrat to the presidency will not substantially change things. It does not matter what Biden has or has not done. The crucial “glue” holding a society together has fractured. Cohesiveness has vanished as the combination of idiot libertarians and religionists/misogynists/homophobes/racists has achieved their wet dream of deconstructing society. Bannon’s idiocy of deconstructing the state is meaningless. Society organizes using the nation-state on this level. That the nation-state becomes oppressive does not mean that it does not exist. The lack of state would be even more catastrophic.

    My alternative is simple and extremely dangerous: break up the country. The so-called American experiment has run aground on the one critical thing that the founders neglected which is the concept of “states” within a nation being sovereign. That great failure has come to destroy the country.

    Since you wrote this excellent "analyses" ( regardless of that "Arizona" says that I should not write anymore), I have to answer that your "view" is correct. I look at the same way. You can't have an law system written in 1776 without an million amendments to bring it up to date (only about 20 were made since then) so the country runs on "case laws" which is an hay day for the crooks here. Furthermore the individual States have no uniformity in their own "rules" or "laws". Also the screening of who they sent to Washington is an total joke. Like you said "discipline and honesty" is nowhere to be found and everyone is money hungry and try to rip you off.

    But yeah I stop with writing also, if the "people here refuse to "improve" the "system" here and only like to cater to the "crooks" Have a great day "Lonely"!!

    Again about what "lonely" and I wrote about the "political" games played here, then indeed I've come to the conclusion that the "will" to improve this country is totally "missing in "action". It should be clear to any "normal" person that "things" here are absolutely going the wrong way related to "governing". I've never seen so many lawyers involved in anything as here, anywhere in the world. All of this clearly means that our laws are an total mess and full of holes. That's what you get to have an not updated "base" law of 1776, which was never adapted to the times and had only very few "Amendments" which are not even correct. Such as the "Second Amendment" which killed by now thousands of people. Neither is there an "Document/Law" which clearly determines the "transfer of power" and a 100% clear instructions on how to do such.

    Each time there are all kinds of discussions needed to explain the "laws" here; nothing is "black" or "white" and do not need discussions. Like "Lonely" and I said, may be we need an total "revamp" here with our laws and fill in the missing pieces over 200 years, or start with an clean slate which is updated on a daily bases, so then you don't need a zillion pocket filling lawyers.

    But yeah I don't think that such ever will happen, but may happen after an civil war , unless such creates an "dictatorship" the hard way as happened in some other countries.

    Things do not look good at all in the world; even the "stock market" and other things like "climate" are affecting the well being of humans on this tiny planet. So I guess this country just "muddles" on until .......................?

    Looking at the total picture here, especially with an un-workable partisan Supreme Court and a bunch of "rednecks" and "dubious" human beings in Washington, let alone "global warming" and still the Covid around, then I wonder how this country will look like in another 20 years.

    All the "negative" things rise to the top and the "news" takes advantage of it.

    In the meantime Russia can do as they please as well Trump and his buddies.

    The only way to correct this is to put some "life" in the UN and drag Putin and Trump before the "institutions" which should deal with this. Right now it is indeed an total "circus" done by only a couple of "idiots" who want "power and "wealth.

    In the meantime "global warming" is here to stay and will help to make this "globe" un-livable for the arrogant human ants who keep playing with their self made destructive "toys".

    The outcome of the "mid-term" elections will show if we indeed want to continue on this path.
