One of the kids in class today wore a "Bad Religion" t-shirt that looked like this:

At the end of class, I did a little research, and learned that it is a punk rock group that was started in Los Angeles in 1980. To date, they have released 17 studio albums, all of which deal with religion and/or politics.

Historically, people in the 18-29 age group are the least religious members of our society. 38% of our population in that group do not belong to any religion, but 8% of our population in that age group falls into the "white Catholic" group.

As we all get older, we tend to get more religious, since we are getting closer to "lights out" time, and by age 65, 88% of our population has some religious affiliation. However, Dutch, Schmidt, and I are exceptions to the rule, and so is 63 year old Ron Reagan, who pitches ads for the Freedom from Religion Foundation. In his ad, he says that he is a life-long atheist, and he is not afraid of burning in Hell.

Sorry, I believe in an society and government which uses their "earthly brain" and "common sense"; as well believe in that people create their own mess . For the rest living on this tiny planet is not easy because certain people want "power" over everything, but can't even tie their shoe laces and think "Jesus" will make them "rich". You may as well pray to an "camel". He did, but it did not help him either. Watch out for people with "pointed" hats and "gold" crosses; they came from another planet. Amen

The "title" is "bad religion"; I just wonder is there any "good" one? I can imagine that in the "stone age" there was the "fear" of the unknown because there were no "scientists" either who could "educate" them about strange "things" in the sky and elsewhere. But that the same "cavemen" types still exists today, is an "world wonder" ; yes, the earth is still flat, at least in my backyard. I saw an"alien" because of the weird sound, but it happened to be an Republican on an Harley in an "cloud" of weed. My mistake!

I am 70 years old and have been an Atheist for the better part of my life. I started having doubts about the whole religion thing when I was about seven, and I have never encountered any evidence that would make me change my mind.

You sayin' you, dutch & schmidt have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel? wow!

Yes the "foot in the grave" may be true, but I doubt the "banana peel" because all these "peels" are laying in the Congress and the White House; the Pope does not like "banana's" he only eats spaghetti and lasagna, with some 15th century wine out of the caves of the Vatican. And be aware of "any" religion; these salesmen sell "snake oil" mixed with "wonder oil" ( WD40?) It works, it makes your "beard" grow.
