Capitol ruined, who pays?

    Due the fact the Capitol got enormous damage, caused by the Trump Party, then the extensive repair "bill" should be paid by Trump and his "party". This damage to all the "glass", doors, furniture and graviti etc. as well all the "filth" they left behind, can run up to hundreds of thousands dollars,why should the taxpayer be saddled up with that.

    Also the cost of the damage to the security people as well one police officer who died as well not yet seen damage to offices, should be charged to the GOP.

    An "full" investigation (and the cost for such to be charged to the GOP as well) shall take place and certain people should be fired/jailed who have assisted in this "attack". Also within the "police" itself there are plenty of "Trump lovers" as shown in his rally's . They should be fired.

    Maybe the government will send a bill to Trump and his followers, call it restitution.

    There have been officers fired. While investigating the riot, already the investigation has found officers posting pro Trump crap online that can be perceived as inciting people to storm the capitol.

    Yes "PR" you may be right ; indeed they are too stupid to claim it and let the guilty one run free with hoards of stolen money from the government ( "wall" and "middle east" war tools sales"kickbacks") as well getting an fantastic pension and other great benefits. This must be the most stupid country in the world. The proof is there. Wake up Pelosi/Schumer you are taken to the "cleaners" all the time.

    Dutch -- You keep singly out Pelosi and Schumer as somehow having unlimited powers. With McConnell blocking anything and everything, and Trump as president, the powers of Pelosi and Schumer have largely been contained. You can complain and complain about our "stupid country" in every post, but have some patience to wait on the new Biden administration to make a course correction. His new cabinet is highly qualified, perhaps one of the best in history. But it will take time.

    As far as "who pays" I can expect that in addition to jail sentences meted out to all the "perps", massive fines will also be assessed as part of the punishment. Many of these perps have the financial well being to pay for all damages as well as court costs.
