OK setting aside that we all know he is a jerk, etc, etc, rehash, rehash, Trump is not always as dumb as we think he is, or I should say there are some very very bad people behind the scene constantly whispering in his ear how to legally do very bad things.

What is up with promoting absentee voters to show up at the various voting location in person to vote after they have already mailed in their absentee ballet?

What is his objective continuing to tell people to vote twice even after Fox news has directly warned their loyal viewers that its illegal to vote twice and not to do it?

Proposition 113 in Colorado would put forward that multiple states would pledge to assign their electoral votes to the individual who wins the popular vote. I just read my first article on it a few minutes ago. Wow, that would be a serious step in the right direction. Hopefully it progresses.

Back to double voting which is an I have no idea how to deal with a serious health crisis with a personal profit motive distraction.

Voting more than once. This is a way or means for Trump and republicans to buck/back up their argument that voter fraud does exist, and when hundreds or thousands of double votes are detected, then they can say, see, we told you so, but nobody believed us! It's just another way for Trump and republicans to practice voter suppression. Because they know that they're in trouble because of their poor responses to covid-19, issues of race and policing, and the everyday working person's economic problems, namely stalled talks on extra stimulus packages to help Americans who are hurting. Last week, some repug claimed everything was Nancy Pelosi's fault for not passing more stimulus bill/s on some Sunday politics show, Chuck Todd or George Stephanopolis' show.

There are multiple reasons for Trump to continue advocating to vote twice, despite it being illegal in all 50 states and territories. The obvious reason is that he wants to plant doubt about the postal service's ability to deliver the mail, and with his crony at Post Master General sabotaging the post offices efforts, that could be real. More chaos feeds into the Trump narrative.

What Trump seemingly ignores though is that for many of those postal ballots received but not yet counted, there could be a delay in entering the voter's ballot into the computer system...hence on voting day it might not be recorded yet. If a person double votes on voting day as Trump suggest, it is a class 1 misdemeanor or in some states a felony. People have gone to jail for that.

A more sinister view is that since most Democrats vote by mail, his efforts to get them to vote twice will result in charges of voter fraud that he claims is rampant. In other words, he proposes that Democrats engage in voter fraud, and then when they get caught voting twice and convicted, it is the very evidence of voter fraud that he claimed all along. It sounds too stupid for words, but hey he only needs one case to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Remember we are dealing with Trump logic.

The other thing is that maybe he just believes his own lies.

I am not sure he is ignoring that, he very well could be hoping that a voter log jam scenario happens... Ma and Pa Kettle vote by mail, then follow Trump's bad advice to show up at their local voting location asking "Did you get our votes we sent in the mail? The president said we should come here to verify our votes were received and counted. We are not leaving until we find out." Not only Ma and Pa Kettle, but 100s if not 1000s like them all around the state. Trump would love to have several states in chaos on election day and for weeks after the election. Imagine having several states unable to declare a winner and Trump demanding the courts get involved hoping that they hand him the election, or that he is able to keep dragging out the process by using his executive powers to further make the mess even worse. AKA, A Roger Stone political production.

Stone to Trump: "If you're not declared the winner on Nov 3rd, you can still win by making that no one else {biden} can be declared the winner."

Although the 2016 election reminds us that it's too early to be optimistic, Dana Milbank tells us that (despite Trump's efforts to sabotoge the election) we're still going to be alright:

Before you get too confident, though, remember that Biden's advantage in key battleground states has slipped since July.

Granted, there are no third party candidates this time (Wisconsin just ruled the Green Party candidate was ineligible, and Kenya West is going nowhere) , Trump is losing support with Evangelicals and Catholics, and a lot of Trump voters in 2016 have finally come to their senses. Those are all good things, but there is never any "sure thing" in politics. Just ask Thomas Dewey.

(On October 23, 2016, Hillary had a 12 point lead in the polls over Trump, but got torpedoed by Russian misinformation and Comey's statement 11 days before the election).

Newsweek: Trump Says Nevada Dem Governor Will Cheat Him Out of Winning State on Election Day

"While appearing on Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning, Trump responded to [Governor] Sisolak's recent criticism for the indoor campaign rally Trump held in Nevada on Sunday, and said, "this is the same guy that's gonna be in charge of the ballots."

"You think that's fair? Millions of ballots are going out, he's the governor of the state. Do you think it's a fair thing? Because I'm winning that state easily," Trump said. "But the one thing they can't beat—if they cheat on the ballots. Now, he'll cheat on the ballots. I have no doubt about it. This is the same man who's in charge of the ballots."

"Trump also suggested that Sisolak "tried to make it impossible" for him to hold the rally, adding that "this is what's happening, and it's a disgrace."

"You're gonna see something with these ballots, you're gonna see corruption like you've never seen," Trump added. "You're gonna see a rigged election. This guy would do anything and he's in charge of the ballots."

    =====================================

This is what Trump does...classic Trump. He repeats this lie again and again -- Nevada, Michigan. North Carolina and every state that denies him a mask free rally or supports mail-in ballots.

I always thought that States can have also there own laws and rules. Trump broke those rules all the way, so indict him and sent him to jail. That is how it should be. But not in this "silly" country where laws don't apply for elevated "crooks", who shit on all the few laws we have. Shaking my old head!

With Trump there is no such thing as white collar crime (ie cons), and with politics, there are no limits in how to win. Lie, Cheat, or Steal, all that matters is who is declared the winner; Roger Stone 101. And Trump makes all efforts to define the winner, even if that person does not have the most votes. Such as he will declare himself to be the official and legal the winner prior to the polls closing, and further claim any official election results that do not support his claims must be invalid. Votes for him count, votes for anyone else are a result of election fraud (as he has been predicting all summer). Ask any Trump supporter and they will tell you this.

wwjd, what you wrote is just about an "fact"; that is how he operates. The only thing I wonder about is that the Democrats don't show to have an backbone; they do nothing except "talk" and wait until the elections. They should now already re-start an impeachment for the "long list" ( which they already had at the last impeachment but did not use) and add all the misdeeds he did since then. Holding that big party in the W.H. for "himself to get re-elected also broke certain "laws" etc. On top of it the "crimes" committed related to the virus.

The "history books" will show that this will have been the most "expensive" President in history; he has spent millions on himself from tax payer money. He flies now just about everyday to somewhere with all the security etc. costing "nothing" of course. I guess most Americans have no clue that this is the most expensive way to run a country by having an"free-lancer" as President who thinks he can do whatever he wants. The time of having Czar's etc is long gone; in Democratic countries, Prime Ministers are not "Czar's" ; except here. Even an "god" does not have all that luxury.
