No one is demonizing him.
We are expressing frustration with him because he has zero chance of winning the Democratic nomination yet refuses to accept reality and bow out for the good of the party and the country.
He had his chance. Twice.
Democratic voters (overwhelmingly) chose otherwise. Twice.
The Republican party demonizes anything or anyone they can classify as different. Bernie has socialistic ideas which are very good but every single private coffee area or beer cooler conversation between Republicans involves hateful rhetoric further demonizing everything and everyone that is in that hated category (different). They're evil hateful shallow individuals.
But, back to sanity...... As Jared said Democrats have had two major election cycles for him to try to win their vote. He is zero for two. Vladimir Putin desperately wanted Sanders to win the nomination bc he views that as the easiest path for Trump. Putin absolutely wants Trump there to have a status of being unchallenged.
Sanders is frustrated and rightfully so. The best he can do now is try to get Biden to take a couple of his positions. Not entirely but to let Sanders have an active voice in the platform. Sanders won't get 40% of what he wants but if he gets a loud voice on Healthcare and some input on a couple of smaller issues like student loan forgiveness and something else, it's a start.
I agree with Jared. NO ONE is demonizing him. However, I have certainly criticized him again and again for being less than honest about selling BernieCare and his other "free stuff". Bernie is an opportunist just like Trump, and when he only tells the positives of his proposals but leaves out the costs and other implications, he is just another politician that we have grown to distrust.
I have mentioned this before, but when the many versions of BernieCare are put before the public with full messaging on costs, the American public doesn't like it. In Colorado we put a version of BernieCare on the ballot in 2016 and us Coloradoans turned it down 79-21. Likewise, he couldn't sell it in California or Vermont, his home state. That is the reality...the cognitive dissonance of the Bernie supporters.
I hope you are not calling me out because I have called out his ruse.
Yes. The problem with this country is the "system" ; as long as we maintain an "election" where only "money" counts as well voter suppression and "billionaires" involved, forget it. If you want to copy Sweden then the whole "base law" has to be changed and the President won't have any power any more and becomes more an "coordinator without any "say".
The half ass way Bernie wants to do it, does not work in this society where corruption blooms and outdated laws are written with an zillion loopholes to please the zillion lawyers and "rich" here.
Bernie, you are not very well informed about how things work in this environment.
