Trump has created the most distorted scenario for “wag the dog”.

His guidelines are entirely out of line for the conditions created by Covid-19. The majority of cases are people catch it, get sick and then get over it. No reason for him to create the unbelievable horrible catastrophic panic situation he cheers on each day.

Why is he standing in close approximation to all his Covid team members. Why do all his Covid captains have nothing better to do than gather around him at these TV no information presentations?
His most telltale indicating wag the dog was today when he said “everything going good one day and then the next”. Everything was not going good, his economy was already tanking and speeding toward collapse.

As a narcissist it's all about him.

    1. It was an exaggerated hoax and he was no fool.

    2. It is a serious problem and HE is the ultimate leader who will do everything perfectly and save everyone.

    3. The economy is a mess and uncertainty is the wall street weak link. He spent over a trillion to make it better. He will spend over a trillion again in an attempt to make things better.

    4....... Time will tell

T.J. yes. until this moment they have no clue. If things would be "normal" then 111 dead because of the virus means nothing at all; more people get killed due to cancer or car accidents. Considering that this country has over 350 million people then 111 people don't make an impact at all but it is the Government/Media due to total incompetence that the "fear" factor gets introduced and elevated. The stock market is not the cause but it is the Trump clan "corrupt type traders" who make an mess of it so they can make millions.

The title of this thread is “wag the dog”. I am not saying Trump created Covid-19. I am saying that he is using Covid-19 to destroy this country to cover up his 10,000 point loss on the Dow. If he keeps it up there is a likelihood that far more people will die as a result of him creating panic and confusion using Covid-19. Riots and people dying from lack of health care and medicine not related to Covid - 19. Here from a reputable source saying the danger is in my words a figment of your imagination. Here is what they say:

XXXXXX Vice President Mike Pence said Sunday that the coronavirus task force, in coordination with the Center for Disease Control, would issue guidance this week about how people exposed to the virus could return to work by wearing a mask.

The Atlantic had a good article stating bold things. The Trump presidency is over. The Conman behind the curtain. A good read of a new view of what's going on. The truth hurts and sadly this man has mismanaged this thing like one of his bankrupt businesses.

The 5 year old kid has no clue about life or death, let alone what humanity is all about; the "kid" wants it his way or else. He never went to an store to buy food, let alone was short of money; everything was done for him, even right now. The kid never has heard the word "no" not even from his parents. But yeah the other stupid "kids" in this country elect such garbage as President. What a country!

"The cure is worse than the disease" -- Trump

What does that mean? If next week, he somehow gets Americans to go about their business like it didn't happen (although 50 governors will have more to say about this), then we can expect that it will be a "survival of the fittest" world where the young and healthy can survive the virus but the old and frail cannot.

Just think about that. People over 70 -- mostly the baby boomers and the "greatest generation" -- more prone to die. If we seniors die in a big way, it will be a big burden lifted off society in having to care for us in our old age. With the worker to retiree ratio declining and placing a future big financial hardship on the workers, the curve can move the other direction if we die before our life expectancy date. Just saying...

Colorado Springs just had six cases of coronavirus reported -- all in a nursing home.

Yahoo News: Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick thinks grandparents should be willing to sacrifice their lives to save the economy

"Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) seems to think that if given the choice, Americans 70 and over would be willing to risk getting coronavirus and possibly dying if it means stores re-open and the economy rebounds...

"...those of us who are 70 plus, we'll take care of ourselves, but don't sacrifice the country." This declaration "doesn't make me noble or brave or anything like that," Patrick said, "I just think there's lots of grandparents out there like me ... what we all care about and what we love more than anything are those children and I want to live smart and see through this, but I don't want the whole country to be sacrificed, and that's what I see."

Okay boomers...ready for the sacrifice? Make it a win for the gipper.

"The cure is worse than the disease" -- Trump

My prior two posts addressed "sacrifice".

Actually, we must remember that Trump never does anything without a personal motive. His hotels are suffering financially, so he needs to get people staying at them again. The "stay at home" mandates hurt him. So look for him to start a new campaign forcing a back lash against all the doctors who are telling them to stay home. "Blame the doctors. The coronavirus is no worse than the flu. Go back to work. Spend money at my hotels."

Yes, he also wants an "bail out"; this is very obvious because the GOP does not want to disclose were the "money" goes to of the "package" under negotiation. It is clear that Schumer is fully aware of that and objects. Of course Trump wants an piece of the pie. I'm afraid that most of the "money" ends up where it should not go. But yeah no one wants to stop the Trump corruption and keep crawling up his butt. Of course he wants to "collect" lots of money before he's (may be?) gets kicked out in November.
