Sorry, Bernie supporters. Democratic voters have spoken and he's just not who the Democrats want to take on Trump in 2020. They have spoken with one voice and overwhelmingly so. It's over. Vice President Biden is going to be the nominee. Now, will you stand with us to help throw Donald out of office?

What you do next will determine the trajectory of our country for the next generation or more. If you pout and sit out the 2020 election then Donald Trump will stay President and continue to be in charge during these very uncertain times of pandemic, market turmoil, and almost certain major economic recession on the horizon.

If you come to terms with Bernie's loss and accept that the future of our country is more important than one man who excites you then Trump will be a one-term President and an actual adult would be able to guide us through these difficult times.

Things are about to get very bad in our country. Things are about to get very tough. Many people are going to die in the coming days, weeks, and months. Many of these deaths will have been preventable if we had an adult in the room who cared more about his country than he did "his numbers." But we don't and we will continue to have this President through January 20, 2021 at the earliest.

My only hope is that Bernie supporters unite with us hated and loathsome moderates and cast Donald away once and for all. If we don't then God help us all.

If I didn't know better I would think that you are trying to drive away Bernie supporters with; "My only hope is that Bernie supporters unite with us hated and loathsome moderates".

Were are absolutely all in this together. We need to join forces and combine efforts.

My hope of all hopes is that Bernie sees the writing on the wall, bows out, and throws his full and unconditional support behind Biden. He may have to drag his die-hard Bernie or bust army kicking and screaming with him, but they will follow his lead. If he is genuine in his support of Biden then his supporters will follow. If he isn't then they won't. It's as simple as that.

Hell - he can even frame it in doing what's best for the country. He gracefully bows out and lines up behind Biden because he doesn't want to worsen the pandemic that's beginning to sweep across our nation. He will stay in D.C. and work tirelessly to help everyday Americans grapple with this crisis while Biden shores up support, unites the party, and takes Donald on with one voice.

It's anyone's guess if Bernie will go that route, but I sure hope he does.

He's (Sanders) isn't going down in flames yet, just yesterday I received two robo-texts from his campaign. I usually receive at least two a day, this has been ongoing for the past month or so. I wished someone would let Bernie know he's no longer relevant.

I noticed a lot of advertising continuing from defunct campaigns now and over the years. Most likely the result of package deals offering better pricing for extended/bulk purchases.

I hope the Dem's realize that the situation in this country has totally changed in the last month. Regardless of who is the nominee it will be an huge task to get this country back on its feet. The economy is in shambles as well Trump is still there to ruin things even more until the election. There will be only an "huge" debt left due to the stock market crash and Trump's created "deficit". So it will take an very strong person to get things back to normal. As well don't forget the Trump Party will fight everything they can, especially if McConnell gets re-elected. My feeling is that very difficult times are here and will last for an long period. The "virus" thing will add to the dilemma ; sorry people it is as they said on the news, things like this is like going back to the 1930's.

If Biden will become President, then certainly I would not want to be in his shoes. Just to cleanup the Trump mess and that of his loyalist will be an huge effort, let alone the economy.

So even if Biden becomes President, there is nothing to cheer about.

    Don't despair.

The most recent polls show that Amy McGrath is TIED in the polls with Moscow Mitch, and he is considered to be the least popular senator in the senate. I would not be surprised at all is he gets defeated in November. The Democrats only need to flip 4 seats to regain control of "the upper body". If they do that, I'd LOVE to see Elizabeth Warren as the senate president.

(Does the phrase "kicking ass and taking names sound familiar?"

Then Obama was sworn in in 2009, the country was a mess. If took a while to fix things, but he eventually did IN SPITE OF THE FACT that Boehner and McConnell fought him every step of the way.

I read this morning that Tulsi Gabbard FINALLY stopped her campaign (yes, she was still running) and endorsed Joe Biden.

Buried in Heather Cox Richardson's letter this morning was this paragraph:

" Today more than 80 national security professionals broke with their tradition of non-partisanship to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for president, saying that while they were from all parties and disagreed with each other about pretty much everything else, they had come together to stand against Trump. “Our nation’s foreign affairs are in disarray; our alliances frayed, and our national prestige declining. Our approach to both friends and enemies abroad has been chaotic and unprincipled. Our credibility as a nation has been lessened. And, perhaps most importantly, our place in the world as a source of moral leadership has nearly been lost. As a country, we are increasingly less secure and less safe.” Trump has “created an existential danger to the United States, its place in the world, and the values we share. His reelection would continue this downward spiral, and will likely have catastrophic results. Democracy is at stake.”

Yes like you said if the Dem's can get hold of the Senate that would make their job easier (if they win). However don't forget that our "international" relations are also totally damaged due to Trump's ignorance. China is now helping Western Europe with doctors and supplies as well with the G5 networks. Also Putin is offering "peace"? via the oil and gas industries and cooperation together with China. So due to the Trump attitude related to NATO ( and have them pay for having US forces on their soil) as well punishing Airbus because Boeing is in the shit, and the European industries with his "tariffs" then after the virus thing is over, Europe will be an stronger ally with China and Russia, instead of the US.

Thus if the dumb masses here again elect Trump, then the rest of the developed world will turn their backs towards the US.

Tulsi Gabbard is out of the race. She has endorsed Joe Biden. Obviously she endorsed Biden. Only Jesse Jackson endorsed Sanders. Sanders has cancelled commercials. Here's a novel idea, he himself could endorse Joe Biden. That would be a party under one umbrella. Well it would be if he was a Democrat.

TJ -- Yes I've read that Sanders has effectively suspended his fund raising efforts while his people are holding talks with Biden's people. Biden needs to have Bernie's supporters in his corner, but he might have to pay a small price for that support. We'll see. Just remember, Bernie is savvy politician and will try to salvage parts of his revolution with his endorsement of Biden...when that happens.

They are both are politicians, and likely to strike a deal that motivates Sanders to campaign for Biden going forward. And if for no other reason, Sanders knows he has absolutely no chance to pass any kind of reform with Trump, thus any deal with Biden is far far better. Not only is there zero chance to pass reform in a second Trump term, Trump would very likely wreck all bipartisan progress made over the past 50 years, sabotage the next 50 years with some really bad Supreme Court appointments.

Trump is cancer, he is incapable for doing anything other than spread his cancer further.

The Washington Post advised this morning that Mike Bloomberg just transferred his campaign assets to the Democratic Party in order to fight Trump is key states. The historic donation exploits a loophole in campaign finance rules for candidate coordination.
