I will use sports analogy to illustrate what I perceive to being going on since the day Donald Trump first got elected. It could be any sport, but to keep it simple I shall use basketball and football because they are team sports that require teamwork, coaches, support staff, etc.
In sports there is a set of rules and ethics that teams adhere to. At the end of each game, one team wins, the other looses, and 99% of the time both teams agree it was a fair fight and the better team won that day. The loosing team goes back home and makes improvements to win their next matchup..... But in this analogy an outsider (grifter) becomes coache of a team; he has never coached a game in his life and doesn't even understand the basic of how the game is played, but he does not care because his philosophy is to win by NOT playing by the rules, he believes the best way, and the easiest way to win is to cheat and harm the other team. With this new philosophy it does not require a team of skilled and experienced players, just players who are willing to cheat to win. The new coach fires everybody on the team that is not willing to cheat to win, and he hires new staff and players who are loyal to him and eager to cheat. As part of this game plan he arranges that the night before game, the opposing team gets food poising and must be hospitalized. He gets opposing star players arrested on false drug charges. The new coach starts winning games against teams that should have easily beaten his team, but not because his team was better, but because the new coach went to extremes and starting using cheating methods before, during, after the game; things no other coach was willing to do win. For the new coach, it just seem natural, win-by-cheating. There was only one rule in his book: WIN, and no rule, law, or ethic has a higher priority than winning. In his mind, playing by the rules is for losers. But he expect all other teams to follow the rules so that they limit themselves to boundaries he is will cross at anytime while they stay in a box of limited options.
Fans of his team love him, and are 100% devoted to him because they love his winning ways. They hear media reports that his methods are based on his cheat-to-win philosophy, doing harmful things to other teams so they are at a serious disadvantage. But the coach denies all accusations in the media, claiming its all fake news, its a witch hunt, and he is the true and only real victim because he is the greatest coach in history.
That is the bottomline, a loser can only win by cheating. Donald Trump is the biggest looser we have ever seen in politics because he learned early on his life that the only way for him to be successful was to cheat (and lie) at everything. Cheat in business, cheat on his taxes, cheat on his wives, cheat in politics, and lie as much as possible to every person he talks to; if he is talking, he is lying. He has become a master at cheating, which translates to he has become a master being a very successful looser. This ultimately means for him to benefit in any way, others must pay a price. If Donald Trump benefits in any way, it means he has attained it by cheating; he never has earn anything through honest hard work or skill (other than cheating skills) because he has discovered he can't be successful without cheating; its far far easier to cheat to get what he wants. If he says "I won", it translated to "I cheated". Think of this way. Truth and honesty are very limiting, while cheating and lying has unlimited potential, especially for a sociopathy.
