Throughout Hillary’s campaign I sent emails indicating that attacking Trump is the wrong way to go because it builds and firms his supporters. The best way to campaign against Trump is to show how Democratics are the ones that can carry out his promises which are actually Democratic standards.
Now Bernie who has been my candidate from the start is attacking Trump vehemently. All that does is firms or builds support for Trump. I said in the 2016 election that people were lying to pollster because they didn’t want to admit supporting Trump. Now all Democratic front runners are polling to beat Trump. Don’t believe it. Attacking Trump is preaching to the choir. We already have the votes that recognize how bad Trump is. We need other votes. Swing votes, undecided and new voters. Since those are uncommitted votes then it means Trump hasn’t yet offended them. What will commit them to Trump is attacking Trump. Right now I don’t see anybody beating Trump unless his 85 to 90% Republican support starts to fall. Trump has a majority of Americans saying they are better off now. If we want to win then our candidate will have to campaign how much better Democratics can make it. Attacking Trump won’t work. He himself already says and shows how bad he is and they love it.

Yes attacking Trump has the effect on the Trump supporters becoming even more tenacious in their support for him. It's like an attack on Trump is an indirect attack on the Trump voter. People's nature is to dig their heels in and push back. That's what Trump likes. He cannot win a debate on the issues (except perhaps the economy), so it has to be the gutter politics that he is so very good at and that his base loves.

Trump might choose to not debate any Democrats at all, calling the process "rigged". He is always playing the victim. Some of the Democrats (not all) would debate him quite well...others not so depending on how they respond to his vilification and name calling on the debate stage. Facts do not matter one iota to the Trump supporters...just that their man appears as the tough guy and his opponent is made to appear weak.

Schmidt, I can see Trump taking over the debate. Like the moderator. He has established himself as the supreme being. I cannot fathom him going to a debate and subjecting himself to the control of people he had already classified as liars. If he is asked a revealing or controversial question he will turn it around. His supporters are dying to see him take over a debate. Watch “Where’s My Roy Cohn” to see evil Roy and then see Trump falling exactly in his footsteps is really unbelievable.

Trying to convince Trump supporters with fact or reason simply won't work. If they believe in facts or reason, they would not be Trump supporters in the first place. Some of them actually believe that Trump was sent by God, or that he is the most biblical president in our nation's history.

There IS a way to get along with these people, though, and the Parody Project explains how:

Poor old "god" he's always the victim of what happens here on this clump of dirt called "earth". But I have changed considerable; I pray now to an virus "microbe" (I still have to find out who is the leader) to leave me alone. Is n't time to start an church dedicated to "microbes" which can kill us including the other clergy and the old people like Trump and Barr?Wink So forget all the "god's; the microbes win!!

I don't like debates where the candidates are yelling and arm waving and pointing. If Biden is the one to debate Trump, he just needs to keep his cool and present facts in a coherent manner...while smiling. Trump will of course bring up Hunter Biden again and again. But what about Jared Kushner and Ivanka? Biden just needs a come back line that resonates with the audience...if there is an audience. "Excuse me Donald...were you referring to Jared and Ivanka?"

If you need further proof that Trump supporters are crazy, consider this:

According to a new report by TMZ, CBS has hired full-time security for Leslie Stahl of “60 Minutes.” The security was hired after a family member of Stahl’s received a death threat over Stahl’s recent interview with Donald Trump.

On Thursday, an unidentified individual called Stahl’s home just hours before Trump released an edited version of the interview on social media. The suspect threatened Stahl and her family and said something about “neo-Nazi’s” TMZ reported.

I just wonder if indeed 40% of the population is crazy because of the "education", "churches" and "media" here which makes them "crazy". So do something about those institutions, may be that will help. Certainly don't let "church" stupidity dictate on how to "live". Separation of "church" and "State" should be a must.

Always find the "source" that will help too. It shows lack of common sense here what drives it, because of lack of uniformity in anything in this country. It is time to "elect" proper "educated" people in the government who are "qualified" to do their job. (not just loyalists)

As well promote "uniformity" in government affairs throughout this country. Like "elections" and "healthcare" and "education" etc.

Former vice president Mike Pence was briefly heckled Friday as he began a speech at a conference organized by the conservative Faith and Freedom Coalition in Florida.

Pence was introducing himself as “a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican ― in that order,” when some shouted taunts in between breaks in cheers from the audience. Shouts of “traitor” could be heard as Pence spoke.

Pence has been a target of supporters of former president Donald Trump since he refused to take action that would interfere with the certification of the election results in January. Some in the mob who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 called for Pence’s hanging, and he and other lawmakers were brought to secure locations when Trump supporters breached the Capitol building.

In his speech Friday, Pence praised Trump, calling his service as vice president “the greatest honor of my life.”

Republicans who did not support Trump’s attempts to overturn the election results have faced a chilly reception from conservative audiences in recent months. Senator Mitt Romney was booed at a gathering of Utah Republicans at the party’s state convention last month, and fended off an attempt by Trump supporters to censure him. Several other lawmakers who voted to impeach or convict Trump over his role in the Jan. 6 attack were formally censured by their state party committees.

A supporter of former President Donald Trump who was arrested for storming the US Capitol in the Jan. 6 insurrection became the first MAGA fanatic to face a firearms charge under a riot law, according to a new indictment filed this week.

The man, Guy Wesley Reffitt, of Texas, was taken into custody after his wife told the FBI that he threatened to shoot her and their children if they turned him in.

Following his arrest in January, he was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; as well as obstruction of justice by hindering communication through physical force or threat of physical force.

In a superseding indictment on Wednesday, he was issued the additional charge of having a firearm with him at the Capitol.

In Trump Country, no matter what local town, city, or state, the perception exists that the mob who stormed the capitol are true blue heroes. Individuals of that mob that return to their communities don't need to pay for a drink or a meal because they are perceived as legendary heroes in the Trump movement. Other men in Trump country are envious that they weren't there on 1/6 and they claim if they would have gone, they would have made sure Donald Trump remained president to this very day, and Nancy Polosi, Mike Pence, etc would been hung in the cambers of congress.

What is true about the general hero perception in Trump Country, is that if many of them knew what they know now, thousands more would have gone, more guns would have been taken, more people would have been killed that day, and the mob likely would have successfully blocked the raditication by congress, leaving Donald Trump president deciding how to handle an out of control cris of a mob take-over congress. Likely Trump would have declared a state of emergency giving him full control and final say over how to proceed. Even with members of congress either dead or being held hostage, Trump would have protected the mob attackers through his executive actions. There would be a high probability that SC would rule in favor of Donald Trump since he was president at the time of attack ruling that Biden had not been sworn in as president yet nor ratified, thus Donald Trump's actions to were within his authority as president, including pardoning everyone involved in the attack.

My point is that if there has been just a few thousand more people in the mob that attacked on 6/1, this very day we could be embroiled in a legal battle over who is rightfully president because the mob prevented the ratification of Job Biden. Trump claiming that the senate never ratified the vote, thus by default he won and is now reelected president (Or what BS argument his base would likely accept), and Democrats presenting the obvious facts that Joe Biden won the majority of electoral votes and a mob preventing the senate ratification of those electoral votes does not change those facts. Given we are now what has been labeled "The Trump Era" in politics, there would be high risk chance that Trump would prevail with a SC ruling in his favor, handing him the presidency, or some other decision that is in his favor. Trump #1 regret is that the mob was not significantly large enough to prevent the ratification of electoral votes. He very likely believes (or has been told) if he had blocked the ratification, he would be president not only for 4 more years, but remain president for the remainder of his life.

wwjd, thank the "whatever" that things did not go the way you described it. Just like you described it , we would have now an full blown "dictatorship". Also can you imagine if this idiot would have "stayed", then "we all" would be either dead or in the hospital with the Covid. Your story if that would have happened that way would make this country an "paria" for the rest of the world, especially Europe would distance itself from this country and here Marxism would be taught at school. The "rich" would become the "oligargs" here and run the "show". The first thing what would be scrapped is the Obama care, so even more people would die from the Covid and other deceases. etc etc.

I guess the "brain dead" Republicans would have wanted it that way. It shows that this country sticks to being an "island" with an bunch of arrogant "cowboys" who know nothing of the world, nor foreign history of the world. The Roman Empire also came to an end because of arrogance and stupidity; the same will happen here if we stick to outdated non working un-united B.S. as propagated all the time. Non of the States are uniform in their way of life (as well rules or laws) and therefore unmanageable by the Fed's. So if nothing is done about that forget this country; it will become an "has been".

I will use sports analogy to illustrate what I perceive to being going on since the day Donald Trump first got elected. It could be any sport, but to keep it simple I shall use basketball and football because they are team sports that require teamwork, coaches, support staff, etc.

In sports there is a set of rules and ethics that teams adhere to. At the end of each game, one team wins, the other looses, and 99% of the time both teams agree it was a fair fight and the better team won that day. The loosing team goes back home and makes improvements to win their next matchup..... But in this analogy an outsider (grifter) becomes coache of a team; he has never coached a game in his life and doesn't even understand the basic of how the game is played, but he does not care because his philosophy is to win by NOT playing by the rules, he believes the best way, and the easiest way to win is to cheat and harm the other team. With this new philosophy it does not require a team of skilled and experienced players, just players who are willing to cheat to win. The new coach fires everybody on the team that is not willing to cheat to win, and he hires new staff and players who are loyal to him and eager to cheat. As part of this game plan he arranges that the night before game, the opposing team gets food poising and must be hospitalized. He gets opposing star players arrested on false drug charges. The new coach starts winning games against teams that should have easily beaten his team, but not because his team was better, but because the new coach went to extremes and starting using cheating methods before, during, after the game; things no other coach was willing to do win. For the new coach, it just seem natural, win-by-cheating. There was only one rule in his book: WIN, and no rule, law, or ethic has a higher priority than winning. In his mind, playing by the rules is for losers. But he expect all other teams to follow the rules so that they limit themselves to boundaries he is will cross at anytime while they stay in a box of limited options.

Fans of his team love him, and are 100% devoted to him because they love his winning ways. They hear media reports that his methods are based on his cheat-to-win philosophy, doing harmful things to other teams so they are at a serious disadvantage. But the coach denies all accusations in the media, claiming its all fake news, its a witch hunt, and he is the true and only real victim because he is the greatest coach in history.

That is the bottomline, a loser can only win by cheating. Donald Trump is the biggest looser we have ever seen in politics because he learned early on his life that the only way for him to be successful was to cheat (and lie) at everything. Cheat in business, cheat on his taxes, cheat on his wives, cheat in politics, and lie as much as possible to every person he talks to; if he is talking, he is lying. He has become a master at cheating, which translates to he has become a master being a very successful looser. This ultimately means for him to benefit in any way, others must pay a price. If Donald Trump benefits in any way, it means he has attained it by cheating; he never has earn anything through honest hard work or skill (other than cheating skills) because he has discovered he can't be successful without cheating; its far far easier to cheat to get what he wants. If he says "I won", it translated to "I cheated". Think of this way. Truth and honesty are very limiting, while cheating and lying has unlimited potential, especially for a sociopathy.

wwjd, good story. however "sports" are "limited" and seldom have consequences for people outside of any such sport. However in "politics" an whole population is affected. Sport is not "life" or "death" but trying to "live" is the case for the outsiders.

Right now things are getting out of hand:

    1) the "Covid" and its newly detected variants are not yet under control and due to "opening" everything will certainly show its ugly face and peak again likely in August and September due to the too "early" opening of everything.

    2) The situation in Arizona with the "count" likely will escalate into an huge "riot" and spread to other States.

    3) The hurricane season is coming and will certainly affect the economy.

    4) Cyber attacks will increase for sure; computer "blank outs" will affect everyone.

    5) The world around us is changing, but we still stick to the B.S. here on this island and don't have the stamina to analyse this, because of our own shit.

    6) Don't forget that Trump wants his inauguration in August; the way things look he may turnover the apple cart but only make the mess bigger than it already is..

    7) Also the "stock" market is influenced by politics and will affect the economy.

Yes I bet, wild times are ahead for this country.
