My Candidate is firming Trump supporters.

Throughout Hillary’s campaign I sent emails indicating that attacking Trump is the wrong way to go because it builds and firms his supporters. The best way to campaign against Trump is to show how Democratics are the ones that can carry out his promises which are actually Democratic standards.
Now Bernie who has been my candidate from the start is attacking Trump vehemently. All that does is firms or builds support for Trump. I said in the 2016 election that people were lying to pollster because they didn’t want to admit supporting Trump. Now all Democratic front runners are polling to beat Trump. Don’t believe it. Attacking Trump is preaching to the choir. We already have the votes that recognize how bad Trump is. We need other votes. Swing votes, undecided and new voters. Since those are uncommitted votes then it means Trump hasn’t yet offended them. What will commit them to Trump is attacking Trump. Right now I don’t see anybody beating Trump unless his 85 to 90% Republican support starts to fall. Trump has a majority of Americans saying they are better off now. If we want to win then our candidate will have to campaign how much better Democratics can make it. Attacking Trump won’t work. He himself already says and shows how bad he is and they love it.

Yes attacking Trump has the effect on the Trump supporters becoming even more tenacious in their support for him. It's like an attack on Trump is an indirect attack on the Trump voter. People's nature is to dig their heels in and push back. That's what Trump likes. He cannot win a debate on the issues (except perhaps the economy), so it has to be the gutter politics that he is so very good at and that his base loves.

Trump might choose to not debate any Democrats at all, calling the process "rigged". He is always playing the victim. Some of the Democrats (not all) would debate him quite well...others not so depending on how they respond to his vilification and name calling on the debate stage. Facts do not matter one iota to the Trump supporters...just that their man appears as the tough guy and his opponent is made to appear weak.

Schmidt, I can see Trump taking over the debate. Like the moderator. He has established himself as the supreme being. I cannot fathom him going to a debate and subjecting himself to the control of people he had already classified as liars. If he is asked a revealing or controversial question he will turn it around. His supporters are dying to see him take over a debate. Watch “Where’s My Roy Cohn” to see evil Roy and then see Trump falling exactly in his footsteps is really unbelievable.

Trying to convince Trump supporters with fact or reason simply won't work. If they believe in facts or reason, they would not be Trump supporters in the first place. Some of them actually believe that Trump was sent by God, or that he is the most biblical president in our nation's history.

There IS a way to get along with these people, though, and the Parody Project explains how:

Poor old "god" he's always the victim of what happens here on this clump of dirt called "earth". But I have changed considerable; I pray now to an virus "microbe" (I still have to find out who is the leader) to leave me alone. Is n't time to start an church dedicated to "microbes" which can kill us including the other clergy and the old people like Trump and Barr?Wink So forget all the "god's; the microbes win!!

I don't like debates where the candidates are yelling and arm waving and pointing. If Biden is the one to debate Trump, he just needs to keep his cool and present facts in a coherent manner...while smiling. Trump will of course bring up Hunter Biden again and again. But what about Jared Kushner and Ivanka? Biden just needs a come back line that resonates with the audience...if there is an audience. "Excuse me Donald...were you referring to Jared and Ivanka?"
